The 2012 CD remaster has got to be one of the worst remastering jobs I’ve ever heard. Overly compressed and too loud.

Yes, you've read one of the names correctly. THAT Takanori Arisawa (有澤 孝紀, April 2, 1951 – November 26, 2005), would later compose Sailor Moon from 1992-1997 and Digimon seasons 1-4 from 1999-2002.
