I think yes the correct response would have been to accompany my friend and I to the seed vault with his weapon while the others were safely in the van.

Oh, it was extremely windy and snowy and subzero. The driver let us go up because the van couldn't make it up...the issue mostly comes from being so far from the guide with no weapon which is not a thing we should do in polar bear country.

I just cannot stress enough how dark and isolated we were. Our guide was in a van .2 of a mile away smoking a cigarette. Our friends were in the van freaking out. They may be traumatized.

We said goodbye and I drove away and a few minutes later it dawned on me that I may have just inadvertently given him permission to break up with my sister. 🤦🏻♀️

My sisters boyfriend of 5 years was hemming and hawing about how he got his nursing degree but hated the work and he wanted to go back to merchant marine. We walked to my car together and I explained sunk cost fallacy and said if he wanted to quit nursing he should consider it. 1/2
