the whole Embiid situation devolving into (/gestures arms around) whatever the hell all of this is … it just sucks man. it’s really sad. hoping against hope he and they can fix it because I truly love watching him play at peak form but it just doesn’t feel likely that that Joel’s coming back, huh.

The matchup results from that one are interesting. It was pretty clear the Flyers tried to get a lot of Cates' line on McDavid; McDavid won those minutes but they ended up being pretty low-event, which if you're the Flyers you probably feel OK about. (thx @hockeyviz.com)

The thing I will say about Hurts specifically: His numbers this year, IIRC, were very good in QB-friendly situations (i.e. clean pocket) but fell way off under pressure/when things broke down. If you accept you need to give the QB help, I like a guy who I know isn’t going to waste a good situation.

I don’t feel like arguing on twitter about this but RE: the general Jalen Hurts discourse: on behalf of any Eagles fan who argued on message boards during the ‘00s about how good Donovan McNabb was because he succeeded without help, it is so much more fun on this side than it was on that side lmao
