Using the toilet is lawlessness, t-shirts are fetish gear, Tiktoks are flashing, and pronouns are criminal - truly magical feats of transformation, but only when performed by a trans woman. They've built themselves a fully parallel, separated reality and mode of thinking.

People will really use unethical, theft-based, environmentally unfriendly AI models to disappear into personal delusions about religion and generally lose their minds, when topamax is already available as an inexpensive generic pill

Truly overcoming this to effortlessly express your newly recovered soul and previously rejected characteristics facilitates the true goal of mental stability. Presence and connection to the spiritual self.
But it requires either losing the mask or rebuilding it to reflect your new perception.

Recovering the lost person behind the mask is a matter of survival. It requires tackling the monumental task of truly understanding why you are hurting and why you can't see who you are.
This requires not only dissecting your mask but the now embedded characteristics that developed alongside.

The longer their mask is worn, the deeper fundamental aspects to who they are get buried.
The spiritual manifestation of their gender becomes an unrecognisable mess of lost expression.
Living life behind a veil that's getting thicker and thicker until they no longer see the person behind.

Autistic trans young people who aren't provided support or allowed autonomy and expression, shield their true sense of self from the pain of it being shunned away, belittled, and reduced to traits that society has deemed inappropriate for someone of their perception.

From far too young an age autistic people are made aware their characteristics are not acceptable in a "functioning society"
As a self defence mechanism from the early traumas of unexpected rejection, we develop a mask of social tools as a means to "assimilate" into neurotypical society.

Transphobes, cis society, and police always think the answer is:
More rules
More control
More repression
More telling people what to do
More arrests, more prisons, more beatings, more police
And they just keep going like that and expect that transphobia will one day win the video game or something

Which lives does changing sex save? Our fucking lives. We're Transsexuals. The population of people who didn't need a research study to prove that transition saves lives.
We exist and our need for self expression is cute and hot and if you don't like it you can scroll on.

A white supremacist laying some flowers while touring the world's must famous industrialised death camp means nothing if he remains a white supremacist.
It's just murder tourism.

WWII was a very close call. But for the Soviets, fascism would have spread across the world, and indeed the US took up the mantle in a lot of ways but outright fascism is once again becoming a threat and I want people to remember that these are people who murder children.

I don't know if that's helpful, but when I look at the NYT homepage through that lens it makes a lot more sense to me.
The purpose is to help the audience shape their minds in such a way that they won't be exposed to risk. The product they're selling is safety from risky thinking.

Their unstated purpose (or function?) seems to be something more cultural.
I'm still playing around with formulations but something like "Help those who are sufficiently privileged fit in to the dominant political climate of the day and avoid trouble with authorities."

You could say they care about clicks and profits, but for one thing so do I and so does everyone seriously trying to make a go of this.
No major news org went all in on Luigi Mangione hagiography, and that would be an obvious click-generator. So, that's not enough to understand their core purpose.
