What is good in life?

Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered?... raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression.

Straight down seems bad

This is injecting bleach for the entire global economy. And he's not just floating the idea: he's holding the syringe.

My hometown paper ☕️💅🏽

I find it outrageous as well.

It’s 2025 and children are suffering from the measles

I posted the video over 2 years ago. People thought he was bluffing I guess.

So let me get this straight: as he was framing Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic as lowlife scum for accurately reporting on him, Mike Waltz was frantically checking his _19_ other secret, national security-threatening Signal chats to make sure he hadn't accidentally invited any journalists to those?

Congratulations to Judge Susan Crawford on her victory, and to the people of Wisconsin for electing a judge who believes in the rule of law and protecting our freedoms.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

Again.

It’s still hard to believe the simple fact that this is all self-imposed. Everything that’s happening right now wasn’t the result of some foreign adversary destroying the country. We did this all to ourselves by electing the dumbest motherfucker to ever rule a nation.

There are no tariffs being put on Russia. Hmmm

Don’t look at me, I voted for the black lady who didn’t want to burn down our economy.

It frustrates me that all of a sudden these people know how to write a harsh headline when the bosses are mad at him.

A shockingly straightforward headline from CNN: www.cnn.com/business/liv...

Nice to know that my money won, as opposed to his! #Wisconsin

The dollar is in free fall, stock market is down, and the price of groceries is up. Is this the “Golden Age” Trump promised you?

BREAKING: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen just announced that the E.U. is preparing further countermeasures against the 20% tariffs Trump imposed on them. The trade war is officially on. Damn.

I wonder how many people realize the tariff on auto parts causes car insurance premiums to go up?

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory. Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

Don’t call them tariffs. Call them import taxes.

The Department of Government Efficiency, for example

You have to see this. PoliticsGirl and her husband teamed up with the brilliant Timothy Snyder (author of On Tyranny) and the legendary John Lithgow to create something truly powerful. It’s important, it’s urgent—and it needs to be shared far and wide.

Looking for corporate media coverage of the @booker.senate.gov filibuster and finding NONE. Currently live on CSPAN2 and YouTube.

📌If we lose this Supreme Court election in Wisconsin today, we default to an 1849 law that criminalizes abortion, and the fair maps we FINALLY have up here will be gerrymandered into complete hell. Please VOTE. REMINDER: We HAVE same-day registration, which is also on the line if Crawford loses.

Peter Navarro has let the cat out of the bag. Yesterday he said that tariffs will fund tax cuts! So you and I will pay more taxes, pay more for products because of tariffs; all so the felon and the rich people can get tax cuts!

HOLY SHIT, IT'S 1:45AM AND SENATOR CORY BOOKER IS STILL ON THE SENATE FLOOR, DISRUPTING SHIT!!!! THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!!! THANK YOU, SEN. BOOKER!!! 🙏💪

Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.

Wow, just wow 😔

If ICE and GEO Group feel they can open a prison without following the law on inspections, occupancy permits, city and state laws, then why do we expect they will conduct themself lawfully elsewhere? Why would we trust them with human right or lawful detentions? They are showing us who they are.

Oops... He accidentally said what he meant. Sen. Bill Cassidy: "Is there some way that we cut Medicare so that it's-- excuse me, reform Medicare." #MedicareForAll #medicare #ohio #PeopleOverProfit

This is a reminder that Leon is a co-owner of Twitter, along with Sean Combs and the Saudi Royal Family. Think about that for as long as it takes.

What the actual fuck:

Not a historian, but to my knowledge, this is the first time a sitting US Senator — or member of Congress, generally — or perhaps any senior US gov’t official — has included an f-bomb in an official press release. www.duckworth.senate.gov/news/press-r...

Pilot to Hegseth: "You’re going to kill somebody.” For the safety of our troops, Hegseth has got to go.

We’re going to die

Really feel like I’m losing my mind: government OBVIOUSLY cannot punish an individual law firm for hiring someone it disfavors! It’s ludicrously unconstitutional and I feel like without a day of law school I could argue the case. And yet the best paid lawyers in the country are folding?

thinking of one of abraham lincoln's great quotes this morning: "As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy. Whatever differs from this, to the extent of the difference, is no democracy."
