Franks quotes have also indicated as much, but even when coming up in the championship they weren't consistently dominating the ball. They score goals, but i wonder if there's a ceiling when teams turn up to defend every week. We'll see, hopefully he smashes it and we win the lot.

Mannnn wait til they see how many touches Frank likes his team to have in their own box.
comment in response to post
We'll take two of them in fact.

I'm behind the team, i really hope I'm wrong and that's the last post I'll make on those lines.

And then the season starts and it completely flips. Why anyone and everyone is useless and should be sacked.

Holy shit. Actual board level communication.

Links are utterly worthless. Players actually in / players actually out are what matters. Don't get sucked into the click bait.

Ever. fucking. Green

Diminish or disappear. If Spurs play well half the league are happy to sit back and hit us on the break.

How the fuck is that a club employee? Embarrassing.
comment in response to post
He's not club trained for Europe, which is where we're most constrained. Maybe he's just 3rd choice for prem, but experience tells me not to get my hopes up.
comment in response to post
He's also pretty weak at box defending. To be clear i love Ben, but he's not a premier League level defender anymore, and he definitely cannot play 2 games in a single week, which we need our back up to VdV to do.

My tone reads a bit argumentative there, sorry about that. Above is just my opinion obv.

We've had chronic injury problems in this area for 2 seasons. We need to expect 1 fit centre back with current personnel, not 3. Also man-utd flip flopping our way from rebuilding the squad towards 2 then back to three would personally break me.
comment in response to post
Have they considered having adequate back up players in all positions? Especially those without great injury records (VdV. Maddison).

Iraola would at least be a continuation in style and so would make more sense to me. I don't think he's better than Ange though.
comment in response to post
Yes, the numbers I've seen online have us just ahead of Newcastle but that seems likely to change.

Now do more seasons
comment in response to post
Wilson has been v.strongly negative about spurs and Postecoglu for ages, to the extent that I read it as a personal issue with either club or manager.
comment in response to post
This is why i could square losing Ange, even after the final. Even though I would have chosen to keep him, these issues (which Jon highlighted before last season started) would have been in the back of my mind. ... all dependent on who we hire next though, and Frank is another lurch in direction.
comment in response to post
We are unlikely to finish 5th I would have thought. Wage bill wise we should be 7th without some investment.
comment in response to post
This is the real problem for me. If it was even, say, Iraola i could square it. This is just the same nonsense that got us Mourinho.

Our wins per game without VdV and Romero are relegation numbers. With them it's top 4. Dragusin was a disaster, Ben Davies cannot play twice a week, so can't be backup (and had some shockers).

The reporting is that Scott Munn is also gone. Vinai's been in 5 days. Paratici isn't even definitely in. IMO the person responsible for having no serious back ups at CB would be on the chopping block first, but there you go.

Not called for. The internet is too much for some people!
comment in response to post
If that happens, which looks likely then...wtf are we even doing.
comment in response to post
Were his players limited relative to other clubs in their promotion season from championship?
comment in response to post
He's never lost a game after a mid week European game, you have to give him that.
comment in response to post
Average of 45% possession across all seasons with Brentford. 54% in their promotion season in the championship. That's not a side that's consistently dominating the ball. Nothing wrong with that but it's not what we've been building at Spurs.
comment in response to post
When?
comment in response to post
Frank has no form for playing attacking possession football.
comment in response to post
Narrator: they did not
comment in response to post
I will wait for confirmation of the replacement.
comment in response to post
Ffs. It better be for someone who can build on the squad rather than an abrupt shift. I assume it's Frank though... so the latter.
comment in response to post
Frank does not feel like an upgrade. At all. Nor does it follow the direction of the squad building. But sure. Tottenham gonna Tottenham i guess.
comment in response to post
No worries!
comment in response to post
Legitimately interested in this if you can't shift it!
comment in response to post
How much of that was on potential though? We sold Harry Kane and bought a lot of expensive 18 year olds, that's an investment in the future, not a backing of what we need now. I probably wouldn't frame it as backed/not backed but we started the season with 4 competitions and Ben Davies 2nd choice

Hoffenheim since jan after doing very little for Lyon.

Someone mentioned Jol on here and it did make me revisit my certainty here.

I refuse to believe that after nothing for 10 days they're going to make and act on a decision at 3am Monday morning uk time.
