i always learn so much about the world and its possibilities whenever i open facebook

I'm not sure if this is one of those internet laws or not but it is a fact. If a device has a screen and is connected to the internet, it will eventually display ads. Only a matter of time.

lol just moved and new daycare and new mortgage bills are basically the same. #mericuh!

If I ever decide to quit my job I'm 100% going to be the radon guy for home inspections. Dude comes in, plugs in a machine that does all the work, comes back in 2 days to pick it up. $200 a pop. Never seen someone less stressed while at work too.

Herman Melville's "Moby Dick" has perhaps the most memorable opening line in all of Western literature: "I hope you motherfuckers like reading about whales"

The Kennedy Center presents Othello, starring Kevin Sorbo.

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

One of our supporters shared this with us—people are getting creative tonight!

Given developments at the Kennedy Center, effective today I am resigning as artistic advisor to the NSO. Not for me. It’s been a wonderful 8 years working with Kennedy Center President Deb Rutter, fellow artistic advisor Renee Fleming, NSO artistic administrator Justin Ellis, and the entire NSO

Who's the guy who invented the "microwave is done so here's an annoying reminder beep every 30 seconds?" Show yourself you coward!

Major lack of videos of Eagles fans going berserkergang after winning the Superbowl on this platform. C'mon internet, do your thing!

"I promise, America will soon be the Cybertruck of countries—uglier than you could have imagined, built for rich chuds, borderline inoperable, and on fire."

Yes Facebook is one of the worst evils unleashed on the world but I will never quit FB marketplace. Never.

Ah dang I thought all the watered down coverage they did during the campaign would prevent this.

America is heading towards a situation where there is "nowhere to go if you get stiffed by your employer." A Department of Labor staffer speaks on what DOGE might destroy: www.hamiltonnolan.com/p/its-grim-a...

Trying to understand why major brands wouldn't want their ads next to this.

I know I'm not the only one saying it, but the result of dismantling USAID, in addition to just a lot of suffering, is that certain parts of the world will become even more destabilized. Crazy but we shouldn't want that.

The PlayStation Network is down???? In this economy?!?!

If you ever wonder how the electorate could be so oblivious and gullible, just list something in Facebook Marketplace and interact with folks there. You'll start to get it.

The Constitutional crisis was 2017-2024. That period saw many, increasingly egregious violations of Constitution and rule of law that US institutions struggled to contain. One by one, barriers between democracy and authoritarianism fell to the onslaught. We're now in the post-Constitutional crisis.

I am so fucking tired of this already. We didn't have to choose this path. www.insidehighered.com/news/governm...

congratulations to the big winner at the grammy's last night: my grammy. for baking the best cookies and being an all-around sweetheart

There are literally not enough journalists employed in the US to cover the bad shit that is happening right now. We are now going to experience the social consequences of a weakened news industry--which are the same as the benefits of a weakened news industry, to those who weakened it.

Just catching up on the news here so if I'm tracking correctly, we elected a convicted felon who has given an unelected tech mogul access to the Treasury to withhold payouts, has asked the entire federal government to resign...

The chances that Canada will welcome me as an immigrant with open, loving arms are drastically going to go down this week.

There is always a 50% chance the intro to Psycho Killer by Talking Heads might turn out to be the Fraggle Rock theme tune. And that’s a large part of the appeal.

This is the kind of energy I'm gonna have this year.

I’m used to this as a criminal defense attorney - constitutional rights get called technicalities all the time. I can no longer say I expect better from the NYT. This is pathetic.

If the FAA director got fired over a business beef AND there was an air traffic controller hiring freeze despite huge shortages AND a chaotic blitz to hollow out federal bureaucracy, and then within a week the first American airliner crashes in 16 years, you would be insane not to talk about it all.
