You got a job by knocking on doors and hand filling out an application IF they had a position open. Got the Sunday paper to look for apartments and rooms. Even having a phone was optional instead of required. There's a lot of improvements that aren't improvements. 2/2

Yeah, it's not the paycheck, it's the additional expenses. My parents paid the mortgage, phone bill (Long distance didn't really happen, cost too much), car payment, insurance. Cable TV was a luxury. Going out to McDonald's was a big deal. A sit down restaurant dinner was huge. 1/

How much do I pay and how does it compare to what I've got? 4/4

How much more profit do doctors make because they don't have to play insurance games to make a living? Do they make less if they were REALLY good at insurance games? Just the questions can go on for pages and pages. But at the end of the day, the only thing Joe Blow wants to know is .. 3/

There's a zillion variables. Does your employer now not have to pay out for insurance? How much do they save/add to profit because 80% of their employee benefits aren't necessary? Do we get raises? Do we nationalize private insurance companies and merge them into HHS? 2/

Nothing is actually free. It's just stuff we agreed to pay for. And yep, my employer ALSO pays into my insurance, social security, unemployment, etc. What we can see on our pay checks is how we are going to judge it overall. It's what we know versus what we don't know. 1/

Right, but that method of tossing them in the back of semi-trailers will need about a year for people to get complacent again. If I wanted to play other games, I'd start fires under critical overpasses. Shaped charges for small bridges on major highways. Doesn't take a lot to screw supply lines.

The first step would be finding out who is in his inner circle, actual advisors, that is anti-Ukraine. Someone is telling him this is a good idea.

I want to see the same thing on Medicaid for All. Okay, I'm paying X now for Y. Am I going to save money or spend more? That question doesn't get answered, so there's not a lot of urgency to switch to Universal Health Care. 3/3

I want a price tag on it. I want the terms and conditions. The provisos. And I want Dental, hearing, and eye care on it. I can look at my paystub and see my exact costs, right now, for private insurance. I can look up what's covered and not covered. 2/

It's insane to us on the inside. There's a demon we know, private insurance, and the demon we don't know and don't really trust, our government. I still haven't seen a well thought out plan offered by liberals for UHC. The best would probably be Medicaid for All, but ... 1/

@rokhanna.bsky.social We didn't "embrace" RFK because he's an idiot. We also wouldn't "embrace" Johnson. We aren't going to be "embrace" Musk because he's a Nazi. If you send money to Nazis, you are a Nazi. Period. The end.

Shame that attack was something you can only do annually. At least until you have enough partisans to assemble in country. That's a terrifying thought on a national security level. A cottage industry of flying guided bombs that can be delivered practically anywhere.

yeah, so the previous mass attacks on civilians by Russia were just for giggles?

If you are able to, we are asking for folks to either consider a $32 donation to YDofCM or 3+2 items to donate to a local food pantry. We are doing big things here in the Midlands! Come be part of the movement! #ydofcm #ydsc #yda #youngdems #youngdemocrats #scpol #scdems
