I have a huge request for my readers: Trump's tax and spending bill will be moving through the Senate. Senators can invoke the Byrd Rule to try to remove the anti-trans Medicaid ban and EHB changes. You can find and call your senator here and ask them to do that. Please share as well.

This is really great framing. It’s worth taking a few minutes and reading through it.

Yes please. Origami Ballet - Agnes Obel - "The Curse"

I know Harry Potter is tied to a lot of cozy book-reading memories for people but it’s time to let it go. It’s hard. I feel you. I wish I could watch “Dead Boy Detectives” but I won’t.

I don't think it's a coincidence that cops started acting extra out of hand once we let them wear military gear. Make them wear clown outfits for several years to restore humility to the job

Tonight, every night, approximately 400,000 people in pretrial detention (i.e. in jail, awaiting trial, because they couldn't afford bail). As Fiona Apple notes in this mesmerizing video, 60,000 of them are women (66% of whom have minor child at home). These folks should be home with their families.

God blesses him!

Avelo Airlines has decided their profits are more important than not being complicit in mass deportation. We're fighting back. Tell them you're boycotting: www.change.org/p/we-won-t-f... Protest them in Burbank: www.mobilize.us/mayday/event... And check the list for legislative asks.

Ahneus. 😡😱

The richest 0.1% of Americans control $22 trillion in wealth. The bottom 50% control $3.8 trillion in wealth. Read that back. Folks, this is what oligarchy looks like.

Don’t judge me. I’m buying books from a local store tomorrow.

A grandma who works at Target. An advocate for farmworkers. A cancer researcher. A grad student who wrote an op-ed. A hairdresser. A sheet metal worker and loving father to an autistic child. At least two people who took a wrong turn on the same bridge in Detroit. A toddler.

My oldest went to @universityofky.bsky.social and I usual donate during their yearly fund drive. But all of the DEI programs I usually support aren’t an option this year. I guess I’ll be donating my money elsewhere. Shame.

“Today, right now—and I mean right this second—you have the most power you’ll ever have in the current fight against authoritarianism in America,” writes @adriennelaf.bsky.social. If you wait to speak out against autocrats, you have already lost: https://theatln.tc/Dub5DrW8

One thing that should be said about every voter suppression law is how unnecessary they are. Voter impersonation is the one crime we have all but eliminated with extensive cross checks, burdens, & enforcement. Meanwhile, we do almost nothing to fight the most common crime in America—wage theft.
