www.facebook.com/share/p/16LN... The minister for finance refuses to intervene in the sale of Israeli war bonds, which are used to finance the murder of innocent Palestinians in Gaza. #speirgorm

Who gave trawler owners the right to scour our seas of wildlife for private gain? Many of those with big boats have become hugely rich, plundering wild ecosystems that belong to everyone, and no one.

My article today in Rebel News discussing Trump’s foreign policy and what his recent treatment of Colombia might spell for Ireland: www.rebelnews.ie/2025/03/03/t... #pbp #rebelnews #irishpolitics #ireland #trump #shannon

This absolute dose wants to do away with neutrality, be quiet about Israel and is sympathetic towards Enoch Burke. And he's spending €750K on a campaign. Please explain to your friends and families why nobody should vote for him. #spéirghorm #irishpol

Wait... We're taking "advice" (orders) from the legal head of the notorious torture facility, #Guantanamo Bay? The guy who helps countries join #NATO? While spending €2.5bn on pointless fighter jets? Are ye taking the piss lads? This is a very expensive #BowlOfShamrock. 🇮🇪☘️ #spéirghorm #irishpol

This government and Taoiseach have a demonstrable disdain for women and women's issues. www.facebook.com/share/1Yo3K2... #Ireland #speirgorm #irishbluesky #women

While a decrease nationally in welcome news, to have 15,000 homeless in a nation with 100,000 vacant and derelict houses is simply disgusting. Social housing for all

"Delighted" Taoiseach Micheál Martin yesterday said that the government could look at developing an ‘alternative system’. www.thejournal.ie/rent-pressur...

Reading economists talking about Trump’s tariffs is like reading a film studies paper on a Marvel movie. Why are they weighing up the merits vs the losses? It’s dumb. This whole thing is just dumb. Lending credibility by analysing this as an economic plan is ridiculous and dishonestly clickbaity.

Great turn out today for the National Demonstration for Palestine in Dublin. It doesn’t end with ceasefire! The government must enact the Occupied Territories Bill to sever all ties with the genocidal state of Israel. @pbp.ie @amnesty.org @ipsc.bsky.social 🇵🇸 #freepalestine #endtheoccupation

Stay safe tomorrow everyone. Storm winds up to 130km/h to hit countrywide 🇮🇪

Facebook just added unskippable ad breaks to feed scrolling. Because, you know, they’ve enough users as it is. Why not get a little cheeky?

Ireland needs another vote to BAN vulture funds. This is disgraceful. www.businesspost.ie/news/fund-sn...

“[Doherty] said her ‘worst fear’ was that the government wouldn’t get an invitation to the White House next March.” Very damning investigative journalism on some vile anti-Palestinian comments by Regina Doherty. From The Ditch. Read here: www.ontheditch.com/fine-gael-me... #gaza #pbp #irishleft

I’d recommend Jake Bittle’s ‘The Great Displacement’ for an in depth look at how US insurance companies and landlords continuously profit off natural disaster victims.

The branch relaunch of People Before Profit Wexford was a tremendous success. I’m very excited to see what a true leftist party can get done in my locality. Primary focus: help young people put down roots. A lack of opportunities + high living costs are killing us. @pbp.ie #pbp #leftism #socialism

We can now see the cost to the public of the government's performative cruelty. They money at private companies to try and make people think migration is a big issue, but choose to leave people homeless in the freezing cold. #PerformativeCruelty

Word of the Year 2024 in my opinion has to be Gerontocracy

Former FG ‘independent’ Verona Murphy of Wexford elected Ceann Comhairle. No stranger to dog whistling about migrants, supports landlords, and will receive €1.2 million in salary over her term. Right-wing views, right-wing government, right-wing ‘impartiality’. #pbp #voteleft #irishpolitics

Reminder that Chinese company, Ganfeng Lithium, is currently prospecting for lithium (essential to the manufacture of mobile phones) in the Blackstairs mountains, along the Carlow-Wicklow border, under licence from the Department of the Environment. Source: Matt Cooper’s ‘Who Really Owns Ireland?’

The global chief of the group building Ireland’s National Children’s Hospital took home a pay package of €2.1 million last year. The hospital has cost €2.2 billion so far, has yet to be completed, and continues to demand state funding. The hospital will provide only 533 beds. What a disgrace.

BREAKING: Israel to close Dublin embassy over 'anti-Israel policies’. Good riddance. www.rte.ie/news/ireland... #palestine #endgenocide #gaza

“We are caught in a housing death spiral … it’s urgent that the executive realises the position the area is in and takes decisive action before it becomes too late.” www.ireland-live.ie/news/derry-n...

It is interesting to see this in the wild. This is western regime change propaganda, this is theatre. Originating with AFP or Reuters, then repeated. A liberated people marvelling at the abundance of free market capitalism. First mcdonalds in moscow after berlin wall vibes. NB:I DONT CONDONE ASSAD

Post 101: So far I’m very happy with Bluesky. Users are engaged and discussion flows. Unlike X, Bluesky is a net positive for mobilising those who care and for spreading vital information and news as it happens.

The amount of companies across multiple industries in the UK and Ireland laying off employees before Christmas is staggering. I can’t believe some employers are this brazen and heartless. They’re not only ruining the holiday period. HR are shut. No one can get an interview until mid-Jan at best!

The SIPO Commission is supposed to be a platform for the people, overseeing the ethics of government actions. Paul Murphy TD’s complaints were followed up, a damning report was written about Robert Troy and SIPO decided not to publish it until after the election. This is not impartiality.

Eoin Hayes should have been vetted properly by the Social Democrats and NOT allowed to run for election without disclosing the shares he owned in an Israeli-affiliated company. Centre-left politics are muddy. The SD are stuck between two incompatible ideologies. It’s time to go left. Join PBP.

Social Democrats not fucking around but I'd have questioned his suitability as a candidate knowing he worked for Palantir. We're not the British Gov't ffs www.rte.ie/news/politic...

NBC News has to be satire. Evil assassin honed his skills playing violent video game AMONG US. This ain’t journalism…

Slavoj Žižek holds a very important place in the leftist canon but oh my god… ‘What lies ahead when there is no future?’ but we’re moaning about a UK uni creating spaces that exclude straight white cis men? As one let me just say: this is not exclusion. I don’t need a key to every house.

The Irish Green Party’s loss of 11 of their 12 seats goes to show that YES: you can gain popularity without providing substance based off what you’ve called your party BUT: climate policies are unpopular and democratic elections are popularity contests. We need green initiatives not green parties.

France frenching real hard right now

Gerry Hutch, an Irish criminal infamously the prime suspect for two of the biggest armed robberies in Irish history, was almost elected to the Dail today. He lost on the 11th count by 781 votes. We need to stop failing working class people. Or many more will start turning to men like Gerry.

Aontú have doubled their votes in my constituency since the last general election 4 years ago. Anti-abortionists positioning themselves as the ‘dependable’ conservatives of Irish ‘values’. Real Irish values: bodily autonomy, migration from disaster, religious freedom, and equality & equity.

Hearing about Irish far-right candidates sowing distrust in our election process is really upsetting. Another US export of misinformation that’s being allowed to gain traction uncontested. Refusing to address issues like this only helps the right to gain a permanent foothold in our elections.

Irish far-right accounts on X have already started to seed a 'stop the steal' narrative around #GE24 - this time it's more focused on ID fraud than the 'foreign interference' claims we saw during the locals and Europeans in June (though there are still efforts to push that narrative too).

If a party in power can’t respect the women of their party what makes anyone think they respect the women of the country they represent?

South East Radio: “Fine Gael Bridin Murphy shocked and disappointed over a targeted campaign by her own party.” Launching a campaign against your own candidate the night before an election because you gauged the electorate incorrectly and were too greedy running two candidates in the same district…

Report, block, and move on. It’s not worth it.
