Empire of silence ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The only criticism I could fathom would be that this is “derivative”to that I say: yeah I guess? If there was only ever original ideas published we wouldn’t have that many new books published at all. This book is flippin awesome.

Basically hate read the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn so I can appreciate James by Percival Everett even though people are saying you don’t have to. Yeah that’s an afternoon I won’t get back

Started Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio and is it just me or is there some GGK vibes in these prose? Might just be the narrator 🪐💙📚

My first S A Cosby novel, All the sinners bleed. A compelling start, I feel like I’m going to finish this one quickly 💙📚

I’ve intentionally branched out and read away from reading majority fantasy this year so far and am really glad I did. So far I’ve read 2 fiction, 2 non-fiction and one fantasy. Now I’m halfway through IT by Stephen King and blasting through (did half over the weekend) 🩸📚💙 🪐📚

About 2/3 of the way through a Man called Ove and hot damn this book is emotional 😭 📚💙

Strange Sally Diamond ⭐️⭐️⭐️ After a strong start I am left a little disappointed. I enjoyed the characters, more or less all are well crafted. The humour is great and the first 50% I thoroughly enjoyed the story. What brought this down for me is the direction or lack thereof. (1/2)

Malice- John Gwynne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bit mixed on this. A slow start and overload of POVs/ Characters made the beginning tough but after 200ish pages the book came to life. By the end I love some of the characters and am excited about continuing the series 🪐📚💙

Started Malice by John Gwynne this afternoon. Solid enough start so far, I’ll be interested to see how this compares to the Bloodsworn 🪐📚💙

Stephen King’s Misery is book 81 of 2024 and a great way to finish off the year. 🩸📚💙 A horror/ thriller with an iconic antagonist in Annie Wilkes this book is a must read for fans of the genre. My only criticism is it felt like it went on slightly too long for what it is but I’m splitting hairs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tiered my read novels for the year for some fun. Ask me to do it another day and it might turn out differently. The top tier isn’t ordered as they’re all fantastic and it was too hard. Overall a fantastic reading year, really looking forward to 2025 🪐📚💙

Can we please appreciate this absolute STACK of awesome books my wonderful wife bought me for Christmas. I don’t know what to read first! 🪐📚💙

Finished Green Bone Saga this afternoon. What an amazing trilogy, by the end I really cared about all the characters. I’m sad that it’s come to an end but grateful it didn’t overstay its welcome. I’ve found a new favourite author in Fonda Lee. Really looking forward to reading her future work 🪐📚💙

Jade legacy has me in tears jeeeez 🪐📚💙

Just finished the audiobook for Piranesi read by Chiwetel Ejiofor. What an excellent performance. What an excellent book. 🪐📚💙

And Book Four is done. I full on cried.

My 2024 Goodreads review. Finished another this evening, gonna try and go for 80 books by the end of the year 🥳 my best reading year yet! 🪐📚💙

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a proper reading slump buster. I’ll be reading some more Blake Crouch for sure
