That sounds amazing! How long did the trip take? And do you stop at every station??

4. Select "Send Feedback" 5. Click on "Gulf Of America" text. 6. Select "Inaccurate content". 7. Select "Incorrect" and type in whatever text you want such as "The correct name of this body of water is “Gulf of Mexico". The more reports to Google the merrier…. 😉 (Thanks to Mary Dukes on Meta)

You are a gift to the world and I'm so very glad to know you. Hope this helps to bolster the joy.

Ugh I'm sorry, hon. That sucks. Hope you get a chance to be excessively good to yourself over the weekend.

This is fascinating. I feel like I skim the surface of Social Media - just posting my stuff and blocking the obvious trolls. I can't imagine what it's like to have to plumb these kind of depths of spite/stupidity/obliviousness daily.

I was thinking the same! I'm just over here in my own bubble, posting stuff.

Listen, I know how crazy woo this sounds, but we know that energy flows where attention goes. (aka Observer effect). Remind yourself of how much power you have in the here and now. YOUR here and YOUR now are waiting for you to direct them via your focus.

You can do the same with your inbox. Unsubscribe. Unsubscribe to the max – you can always rejoin. Unsubscribe from the shopping emails, especially if you're trying to wrangle control over your budget. Just get rid of the temptation for a minute. The FOMO will abate, I promise.

We forget that we can fall out of alignment with the authors of those books. Hell, I even had a copy of The Art of The Deal at one time *shudders I was once someone who thought she needed those words. Not anymore. Bookshelves speak about you and TO you.

REMEDY #3: If you can't hear yourself think anymore over the clamour of outside voices, be it newsfeed or tv … CLEAR YOUR BOOKCASE. I know this sounds like sacrilige but hear me out. We book lovers tend to collect and curate volumes of words that speak to us in the moment. We forget that we change.

REMEDY #2: IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR SOME SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT, some sense of completion, when the world seems to always be back where we started with the big issues …. MAKE YOUR BED. Seriously. Mindfully. Notice the completion. Done for now is as good as done.

1) TIDY UP A BIT. Put some orderliness into your immediate environment. Notice while you putter around, putting things in their place, that here, you have the power to set things to rights. OWN IT. Let that feeling flood the spaces where powerlessness lurks.

Your home can be everything that the outside world isn't. Your home can be a literal recharging station when the outside world depletes even your deepest reserves. And in times like this, I can’t think of anything more important. So here are THREE NEXT-SELF ENHANCING RITUALS for you to try

This was fascinating, and yea, it's the humans. And having robust self-preserving tools helps hugely.

Ohhh that feels hopeful.

Yea, my first thought was, I get it AND I don't want to make that decision. Decision = trajectory. I don't want to decide all is lost even as I deal with a reality that looks like it is.

So glad you're here! And as usual, your introductions are wondrous.

The lesson was not to engage on random meme sites that are obviously the virtual equivalent of schoolyard bullying. But now I'm thinking about it, maybe I should've left the comment up and let the blocking spree begin.

Cynical and creative make for brilliant strategy, in my opinion.

I read Dr Heather Cox Richardson's daily email and kinda leave it at that, at the moment. I need to be informed but not inundated.
