This is a good story (the Obamas are still listed as honorary hosts?!), but for the end, when the AI reader apparently reads the photo illustration and accidentally cites MAGA as a co-author. Oops. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

If that’s what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up. We will hold this administration accountable.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Just want to shout out the reporters and photojournalists of the @latimes.com. They have a shitty owner, and as a result there are far fewer of them than a few years before, but on this story, as with the fires, they are giving it their all.

LATimes reporter.

"Donald Trump loathes our city. He loathes our values. And he will exploit every opportunity to dismantle our progress. Donald Trump and his right-hand man, Stephen Miller, are not responding to a crisis — they’re orchestrating one.” www.latimes.com/california/l...

The Trump Administration always had the power to bring Kilmar Abrego back. They were always lying about this, all of it was lies. abcnews.go.com/US/mistakenl... They chose to disobey court orders because they are authoritarians who regard the Constitution as an inconvenience.

Stop already with the phrase “they’re saying the quiet part out loud.” Nothing, no matter how cruel or stupid, is quiet anymore.

Brilliant girl (now teen). Although, ha, her moxie and smarts led to inquiries from the Lexington, Mass., town manager. In response, she wrote: "I am Sabrina Bhattacharjya, I am 12 years old and I am a student at William Diamond Middle School." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/19/u...

Call your member of Congress, Democrat or Republican, to demand no action on anything until this lawless act of defiance ends. Without the Constitution, they have no power. US Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121

No one should be above the law, most especially the President. Ignoring a Supreme Court ruling to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return isn't just cruel; it's unconstitutional. They're saying the quiet part aloud — if they get away with it now, they'll do it to anyone.

A haunting observation, especially to someone sorting out stuff that once belonged to a long-gone parent: "Objects don’t die. Their journeys in this physical world, up to a certain point, are parallel to the trajectories of the humans to whom they belong." www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
