Oh, sure he did - you don't see puppet strings every time he waves his arms??

The rest of us just want some decent grownups in charge.

I can see this being spiteful if one's partner is snoring and you crunch right into their ear.

"out of pure spite"? What sort of spite drives one to be awake at that hour, let alone eating cheese from a bag?
comment in response to

No. It's probably the blood of pasteurized, processed cheese food - the thing they feed to baby cheese to make it grow big and strong.
Got any brownies? You can keep the points.

Wait, someone took the time to add Alt text and got flamed for Autocarrot?

People who don't live on the east coast or the Gulf of Mexico rarely even think about it. 24/7 news, greater damages (photos, $$) and attention to them, have raised awareness. But people not personally affected have short memories.

Go back to blue books and pencils.

Yes. Same with Microsoft Word's grammar checker. Both are better than nothing unless you're an experienced, professional writer - and then, they can still save you TIME by highlighting the most egregious errors before you even start a real editing pass. RELY on them, though, at your peril.
comment in response to

Do you, though? That's like assuming Grammarly is always right.

Or not. I never said "properly cites its sources" either, although... if you give it the info it can usually REFORMAT what you give it in "xxx citation format" where xxx is a style guide it has had access to. Again, probably behooves one to check, but better than nothing.

It can cite URLs IF it is able to discover them via search engines (not all can). AND as a caveat, may summarize the results incorrectly or simply invent citations that don't exist, which is why I said earlier that you HAVE to check them manually and never rely on them. It can save a bit of time...

Happy birthday, @brucecoville.bsky.social I hope it's a fun one!

Or you're becoming terrifyingly humanoid.
comment in response to

True, but it leaves the humans willing to do their due diligence (unlike some attorneys recently) some decent breadcrumbs. Grok, I'm sad to say, seems better than chatGPT and copilot in this regard.

But it is exactly how we ALL go through life. Then some develop a taste for mental junk food that's easier-to-obtain garbage, while others dig deeper for higher quality waste.

At least it cites the sources it's parroting. 😂

Women know this is code for "How dare you call me out on being a horrible person, you bitch?" And most of us are past retracting our claws for their comfort.
comment in response to

People really have no trouble outing themselves as truly horrible these days. And if confronted, he'll probably claim "it was a joke, where's your sense of humor?"

2016 was. Now it's just the slowest damned coup, the most frog-boiling coup, ever.

And those of us under 70 have gone from Facebooking to be sure our kids were okay to trying to stop the scammers from ripping our own parents off, there. Someone please shut it off!

Or if you accept gifts but pinky-swear you did nothing for the giver (which may be true of dinners but what about airplanes?)

What's the limit? Where do airplanes fall? (Don't say "on the ground.")

Not enforcing minimal ethical standards and anti-corruption practices.

Well, that's one name for him. But it's kind of like "Smith" - which one?
comment in response to

Name him, but do not harm or harass his family.
comment in response to
post
It is hard for people to investigate if they DON'T know who he is. And legitimate law enforcement officers carry identification badges - and show them.
comment in response to
post
And if he is, then perhaps naming him - given that people's lives and families are being destroyed and due process is being ignored and violated ISN'T quite making anyone "no better than them." Hurting HIS family - physically - would be crossing that line.

What does Rubio think the age of consent is, exactly?
And what about their fathers? Do they not get a say? Had they no parental rights?
Due process is due us ALL. And it is being denied to some, which is a danger to us ALL.
