So…a body of water can be renamed and they mandate our compliance, but God forbid a *person* changes their preferred pronouns. I hate this timeline. It’s equal parts hatred and stupidity smothered in a suffocating layer of hypocrisy.

Agreed, @timsteller.bsky.social. The U of A’s main purpose is to educate. Rather than capitulate to baseless (and racist) executive orders, the U of A needs to teach Arizonans why they will not comply. Bear Down and call Trump’s bluff. Be brave, Wildcats. tucson.com/news/local/s...

Not my best work but I needed to finish up quick to get out in the garden to spread dirt. A friend is hosting a party with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s theme and I made cookies to bag up as party favors.

The weekly watering of the orchids. I fear my next crop of blooms are destined for failure as they were nipped by those cold nights a couple of weeks ago. Oh well. I only own so many frost cloths and choices had to be made.

A tale of two lemon trees. One done. Denuded of fruit and trimmed back to a better size as befits the cloister garden. Arms scratched, bit of a sun burn, aching back. Bruised hand. Tomorrow, rest and recover . By Friday, the second Meyer Lemon meets the pruning shears and lopers. 😢

I never thought a quiche would be considered decadent but here we are.

Changing of the guard. The iron on the right loses steam after a half of hour into an ironing session. I only use softened RO water that has been through 5 filters. But, I can never get an iron to last past two years of weekly use. 🤨

I guess when you fire everyone charged with keeping us safe, you end up with prople dying. apnews.com/article/coas...

Explain to me, like I’m 5, how this doesnt have a chilling effect on the economy. 🤦🏼‍♀️ www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Trimmed the rose bushes back for the winter. Sad to see them go but lovely to see the Tucson city lights, again.

Just barely caught the tail end of the sunset tonight. It’s tough when sundown coincides with my duties as House Chef.

Like a snowflake, every afternoon iced latte is unique.

I’ve moved the Great Organize and Purge of 2025 from the closets and garage to the study… there is an even bigger box for recycling & this huge tub for the shredder! The nation is going to be a hot mess for a long time, but my house will be in order, dammit!

Goody Procter has seen a witch.

Spent the day pruning brittle bush and palo verdes. Living next to national forest land, in light of the fires in CA, and the ongoing drought, we all need to clear out dead and dry material, especially buffle grass. We can make a difference if we all commit to cleaning up and clearing out.

Missed the gorgeous sunset tonight making Barrio Bread’s pizza dough mix Chicken Bar-BQ pizzas. Yummy!

I just don’t understand this. Chinese control and propaganda is a danger to national security but Russian and Alt Right (both foreign and domestic) propaganda on Twitter and Facebook are totally cool?

Winter has finally arrived in Tucson. While I don’t expect a hard frost up in the thermal band of the Catalina foothills, I spent the afternoon taking out frost cloths and getting all the potted plants tucked in nice and warm. ❄️

www.npr.org/sections/the... I think of Gabe, Christina, Gabby and all the victims every year on Jan 8th. A man known to have mental health issues, who was kicked out of community college for erratic behavior, was still able to purchase a weapon. It was an easily preventable tragedy. 💔

Gorgeous Tucson Sunrise. I had a video but Bluesky isn’t cooperating this morning. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My oldest Bebé is doing research/grad school at Georgetown. She’s out enjoying a free snow day checking out the sights and sounds of Washington DC on this stormy day.

Enjoying the last roses of the year. The Winter Prune of 2025 commences tomorrow. It always feel wrong when we haven’t had a hard freeze and everything is in bloom. But, if you want healthy blooms in the spring- a big chop is a must!

The reward of another long day cleaning and organizing. Love Tucson!
