VI of CUPS "Pleasure"

A couple of Dark Souls fanart pieces I created between 2012 and 2015. Feels like yesterday when I played DS1 (best one imo) Time flies!

III of Swords "Sorrow"

Can't wait to share the SLDs I art directed for the upcoming Final Fantasy MtG set!!

QRP with your favorite illustrators from your childhood! For me it's Trina Schart Hyman, Leo and Diane Dillon, Mary GrandPre and Chris Van Allsburg. Together they illustrated nearly all my favorite books and they are all HUGE influences on my work today!

Painting otherworldly portraits is my comfort food. When I'm painting a portrait I feel like I'm hanging out with the subject and learning more about them the longer I spend working on it.

Hey everyone I know there’s A LOT going on right now. But please pay attention to the SAVE ACT. If you changed your name in marriage, and even if you kept that new name after divorce (like I did), you could lose your right to vote. www.newsweek.com/married-wome...

@coreybrickley.bsky.social The longer I work on this portrait the more it looks like your style?? You haven't posted in the last 2 minutes so I can only assume you're dead and your ghost is guiding my tablet pen. Thnx bud

That famous Vermeer painting "Girl with an Octopus Headband"

Today is my birthday and marks 37 years on this beautiful rock in space! 🥰🍰 Hopefully to many more. 💚 May I ask for reposts of my art? It would mean a lot to me!

Icon Vs Artist (I gave up trying to take a picture where my eyes looked symmetrical so I just...closed them)

@checanty.bsky.social imagine my delight when I scrolled down to see who did the cover art for this awesome dungeon synth album I was listening to and saw your name!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DSk...

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.

Every month I post an article on my Patreon explaining some aspect of the professional illustration world. Past topics have been everything from "How to Contact ADs" to "Art Contracts 101" What subject would YOU like to hear an art director cover in a future post? www.patreon.com/c/AskanArtDi...

Ahhh yayyy! I get to share the Aetherdrift secret lair I co-art directed! This one was really complex: my fellow AD Sarah Wassell and I worked with 3 different artists for each card (A 3D modeler, a type designer and an illustrator). But I think they look incredible!

Many years ago in undergrad a teacher gave us an assignment to reimagine a classical piece of art using modern subject matter. This was my adaptation of Judith Beheading Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi.

Teaching an art history class or making a youtube tutorial on painting? Here are some female classical artists to reference so you don't get stuck listing the same old men over and over: Artemisia Gentileschi Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun Judith Leyster Elisabetta Sirani

Henriette Rae is a great example of why whenever male artists share examples of "the masters" and the list is all other male artists I know they just didn't bother looking very far

Flipping through all the different adjustments layers and thinking it looks best on "pin light" and then realizing that's the one that didn't change the piece at all
