Repost with the first album you bought with your own money

Always enjoy how this sort of post allows people to comment "huh, well I got [insert high score] here, and that doesn't really mean anything, although I did get [insert high score], not that I mention my [high score] much at all".

ooooh I have a theory on that - I think a crucial difference between the centre left and centre right is that the former has more of a sense of where it stands ideologically and historically, eg away from wherever the Labour party is at that point in time, whereas the latter only ever tethers...

This reminds me of when I did admit to a classmate that I listened to Joan Baez. Amazed to discover Diamonds and Rust was not originally a Judas Priest song, he suggested we swap mixtapes of stuff we liked: I carefully curated 25 different artists; his tape consisted *entirely* of Judas Priest.

In a single answer, she explains that the Lib Dems are a “protest party” because they are “nice” (what are people protesting about, cake?) and simultaneously “extreme”. You can sort of see where each point comes from but not where it hangs together in any coherent sense.

This is tactically wrong given Trump’s unpopularity in the UK, but it’s also substantively wrong because what, exactly, does Kemi Badenoch want to cut? It’s all very well staying the state does too much but you need some sort of articulation as to what it should stop doing.

A lot of misinformation going around about this 'Gazan's using the Ukraine Scheme' court case. This is an unreported case from the Upper Tribunal available here: tribunalsdecisions.service.gov.uk/utiac/ui-202... 🧵

Glanced at this photo thinking “that’s not as bad as I expected; it seems mostly intact” before I realised.

I wonder what precise aspects of Kemi Badenoch’s computing degree were regarded by her as socialist indoctrination?

Important story, deserving to be widely shared. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

Great letter.

This “NATO transcript” is fake and I’m sad to see people repost it. I’m reporting it and blocking the account that originally posted it. Always worth checking your sources before you repost stuff that conveniently affirms all your political feelings, whatever side you’re on.

In tribute to RFK Jr, confirmed today by the Senate, this article includes an extended discussion of brain worms.

What a bizarre piece: a non-story on the face of it (someone heard an offensive joke three years ago?) and then victim-blaming when you read it (the joke was about Rayner herself; is the implication that she is to blame for not having taken action?)
