I read this way back when. Extremely fascinating. One of the few moments where A&H are explicit about their philosophy of nature and philbio!

Translations of two “schemata” Adorno & Horkheimer wrote for their ‘Dialectics’ book in April 1942–(I) Re: domination of nature & society; (II) Re: “Geist” b/w myth & enlightenment. To my knowledge, never before published or translated. (Link below)

happy six AM to those of you just waking up! (i will now try to sleep)

had a dream these guys were still around & smelled like uncut ASS & woke up sad that we will never know how bad they stank 😭

after a few hours of sleep I should have two more for you: from Adorno & Horkheimer’s unpublished ‘Schemata’ (April 1942) for Dialectic of Enlightenment on Marx, the domination of nature, social domination, Kabbalah, Hegel, & enlightenment, & much more!

posted a translation of Adorno’s letter to Scholem on his reactions to reading the Zohar—tying in Gnosis, Benjamin, Kafka, and yes an extended comparison between reading the Zohar for a sense of its “topology” & the search for goat-antelopes over mountainous terrain (Link below)

when Adorno & Horkheimer were sending each other letters full of insults in 34, Adorno—probs the single real reader of the recently published “Dämmerung”—writes a letter like ‘I hate you right now but I unconditionally love this book if you even care. We are destined to be friends. Give it up’ lmfao

Happy 4AM lol Now up: translations of 30 aphorisms from “Dämmerung. Notizen in Deutschland” (1934), including all of the 28 aphorisms left out of the existing English translation & 2 more I’ve re-translated from scratch (Link below)

Turns out the Mesoamerican Sprachbund has some amazing kennings @malkydungeon.bsky.social

two of my favorites: “Telltale Hands” & “Horror over Child-Murder”

sometimes you will find yourself staring at a computer screen for half an hour having to repeat out loud “actually 300 dollars is not ‘a price you can’t afford NOT to buy a 1st edition Verlag Oprecht & Helbling hardcover printing of Dämmerung. Notizen in Deutschland von Heinrich Regius’”

You can't parody these people. They want Trump's results, but by a more procedurally palatable means.

For Parapraxis, I wrote about Marx and Lacan. “Is there something inherent to Lacanianism itself that leads towards a politics of reaction?” www.parapraxismagazine.com/articles/bad...

if a headache lasts three days that just means God’s not finished with making your brain bigger yet

Translations of two previously unpublished fragments on “Negative Metaphysics” by Herbert Marcuse (ca. 1933), original variations on the critique of Heidegger Horkheimer & Adorno were working on their own versions if at the time! (Link below)
