I'll stop quoting Bertrand Russell in a second (might not) but his explanation of the psychology of the far-left is astonishingly on point. He wrote this over 100 years ago. Absolutely nothing has changed.

Each of the Great Labour governments reformed access. Attlee created our National Parks, rights of way and ANOBs. Blair expanded these rights with CROW - giving us limited open access The lesson is clear. Starmer should follow in their footsteps by establishing full right to roam across England

I was asked to submit an 'Idea for Keir' for the latest issue of the @newstatesman.com My proposal to the PM: save the NHS billions by opening up access to the English countryside - details below Read the rest of the ideas here: www.newstatesman.com/ideas/2025/0... cc @righttoroam.bsky.social

Hi ‘Centre for Bioethical Reform’ you are currently outside my office in Walthamstow making a video about doorstepping me with anti abortion pack. If you had called ahead we could have told you I am not there. Please don’t hassle my staff and please contact your own MPs as that’s democratic process.

"Your heart is burst, you have lost half your soul; Even now, now, very now, an old black ram Is topping your white ewe. Arise, arise; Awake the snorting citizens with the bell, Or else the devil will make a grandsire of you:" No, no themes of racism here.

9 years ago today, my colleague Jo Cox was murdered doing what she loved - serving her community. Her compassion, courage, and belief that we have more in common than that which divides us remain a guiding light. We remember Jo, and we recommit to the politics of hope.

It drives me a bit nuts that the left is just as bad for spouting misinformation and disinformation as the right. Just because "the good guys" are being economical with the actualite (at best) doesn't make it ok. This is a good delve into Curtis's latest nonsense.

So pleased to see this stated so clearly. Good, practical reasons for prioritising social rent, as well as it just being the right thing to do.
