On a similar note, here's a clock near where I work, the church of St Edmund the King. What time did I take this picture? If you said 11:15, you'd be wrong, because it is running 73 minutes fast. I am starting to tire of it chiming each hour to tell me a time I know is 73 minutes from being true.

In 1997, there were 4 Mohammeds born per Muhammad in England and Wales. By 2012 they were roughly equal and by 2023, there were 3 Muhammads per Mohammed. I'd love to know what's behind this trend. Why has the 'u' spelling become so much more popular?

So it's a code word to say you need help in fewer and/or easier syllables, rather than a code word so the person making you unsafe doesn't understand? That makes more sense, like James, it had always baffled me as what if the person making you unsafe knew the phrase but the bar staff didn't?
