Yes, we'll have more of this weather please.

I know good people in Labour. Labour has long since stopped being a party for good people. I hope they notice soon.

Imagine being a government (especially a Labour government) that has this many amazing artists against you. Utterly shameful behaviour from Keir Starmer. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Several of the questions are designed to make the respondent feel out of their depth, and at least one makes no actual sense; basically it’s designed to make creators give up and back off. Don’t. In those cases I repeated “Obtain permission and pay for use”

There's a blog that @jameslark.bsky.social and I occasionally bother adding to, which sometimes gets new comments and today led me to this from the other James: The Bridge on the River Kwai: the best explosion of a thing ever. Raiders of the Lost Ark: the best explosion of a person ever. No notes

Please can everyone listen to Geek Gods: Sir Ian Livingstone at 4pm and midnight please? Tell everyone about it too. Radio 4 Extra : BBC Sounds thereafter.

"We’ll start including circles & trapezoids & polygons under the same heading, there’s no knowing where it will end!" We hope you enjoy the final part of Rectangles by @jameslark.bsky.social youtu.be/MMiz33TxT2g?... @sarahdenisonmei.bsky.social @standupmaths.bsky.social @mathsjem.bsky.social

'Oh, so a square gets to be a rectangle but a rectangle can’t be a square,’ shouted someone in the crowd, ‘so much for ‘equality'. We hope you enjoy part 2 of Rectangles youtu.be/_xNSvhmpjns?... @mathsinspiration.bsky.social @learningmaths.bsky.social @kityates.bsky.social @sarah-hart.bsky.social

'Folklore tells of a town where everyone was a #mathematician. Each person was an expert, whether in arithmetic, algebra, geometry or topology' #ShareAStory's back with a #maths themed tale about #inclusion and #acceptance, told over 3 days and written by James youtu.be/Sk28nBPKZu8?...

We found a location from The War Games (in glorious colour and everything) and, as any Who fan would, I scrabbled up the hill a la Troughton. Also, especially for @tobyhadoke.bsky.social, I recreated the comedy Roman soldier. #DoctorWho

Music lesson with Year 6... Me: Bach once got into a fight with a bassoonist. Pupil (excited): Is there footage?

Oh, total kid crush here.

I dreamt that I was working on the Doctor Who bluray range, and we'd lined Ian Marter up for an 'in conversation' but for some reason there was no one to interview him so I said I'd do it, even though I knew I'd be winging it because I hadn't really done any research.

Today at 4pm on BBC Radio 4x, the Fear on Four adaptation of my story By the River, Fontainebleau. A painter’s obsession over a young country girl shades into something more disturbing. Introduction by @tobyhadoke.bsky.social

Join Joe, @michaelmills.bsky.social & @jameslark.bsky.social as they go shootin' and whorin' and spittin' and fightin' in a wild west adventures recalled by the great Doc Holliday... podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...

Come you coyotes and howl at the moon as we talk about girls, guns and Michael Frayn. Yee-ha!!!

Despite forty years of hacks saying “of course , nowadays you have to be a one legged black lesbian …” the number of black or lesbian or one legged people controlling your lives is still a homeopathic quantity compared to white blokes

Every review of AI is like: This isn’t very useful and it makes it harder to do simple tasks than if I just did it myself. Riddled with errors. Can’t see anyone using this. I feel stupider having tried this. That said I believe it will soon make human cognition redundant and eradicate us all.

Yeeeeee-haaaaah! We’re gamblin’ and whorin’ and shootin over the next seven days as Elliot Mair celebrates the TV story and @michaelmills.bsky.social & @jameslark.bsky.social celebrate the book! Come ye coyotes!

250,000 demonstrators in Berlin protesting center-right CDU’s cooperation with neo-fascist AfD in passing anti-immigration legislation.

Now do Soho, permanently this time

I wasn't expecting much from this Labour government, but right now it feels like they're some kind of Trojan horse deliberately bolstering the reform vote for the next election by letting them set the agenda whilst simultaneously refusing to improve anything. Their complacency is STAGGERING.

Abolish the Home Secretary.

It’s hourly symphony day! If you want to join in the rules are simple: every hour for 24 hours you compose an hour long symphony for 60 piece orchestra and post the sheet music here

Idea for podcast: 'I would like a hat like that' James Lark and guests discuss the hats of Doctor Who. One at a time.

Joe & @jameslark.bsky.social ‘Next time I shall not be so lenient!’ Our frolic through the fields of Tara reaches its climax with the swordfight to end all swordfights! Who will prevail? Count Grendel the Doctor? And will James ever undo my shackles? podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/a...

Assuming we make it through the next couple of decades, this will be an incredible image for future historians/students of the Trump era

In my column today I argue that, unbelievably, Labour are worse on environmental issues than the Conservatives. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
