Finished over the weekend. Ready for the next one!

Bun v1.2.3 - Fixes 128 bugs (addressing 349 👍) - Incredibly fast frontend dev server with hot reloading - Builtin routes in Bun.serve - Many Bun.SQL fixes - Wasm gets faster - Node compatibility improvements for napi & Buffer Thanks to 23 contributors! bun.sh/blog/release...

I won’t miss this service and our account reps need to use it.

Been trying usebruno.com as an alternative to Postman & Insomnia. There are lots of things to like. The 1.39 release introduces a usability regression with async loading of BRU files. I can no longer search across collections without opening each one and waiting for async loading to finish. :(

Soup of the day sounds good

I blessed the rains

Having fun building a little PoC @preactjs.com Preact+Tailwind+DaisyUI+TanStack-Query SPA using @bun.sh 1.2's static html imports. Bun is just awesome.

Whoever came up with the idea that the engine should shut off when the vehicle is stopped and restart/resume when you release the brake… and then only offer a button which temporarily disables this behavior… I can’t even 🤬.

Introducing Bun 1.2 bun.sh/blog/bun-v1.2

Downloading 7,000 24 KiB files in parallel from S3 in us-east-1 left: Bun v1.1.44 with Bun's S3 client right: Node v23.6.0 with AWS SDK v3

Bun v1.1.43 - 1st-class S3 support - HTML bundler - V8 heap snapshots - All but 1 of Node.js' "zlib" tests pass - 100% of Node.js[ "path" module tests pass - Many reliability & Node.js compatibility improvements Thanks to 22 contributors! bun.sh/blog/bun-v1....

From "things that annoy me"... Surface Laptop 5 defaulting to 80% charge max AND requiring a special app to temporarily charge to 100%.

🎁 A surprise holidays gift: after over a year of hard work, we have just published Rolldown 1.0.0-beta.1!

I like Apple hardware, but imagine doing this with a MacBook. You’d have to take out a mortgage.

This is very compelling. I need to learn more about Durable Objects.

Our goals for the next 10 days: - Ship Bun.S3, builtin S3 client with almost the same api as Bun.file - Ship Bun.sql, builtin Postgres client (and MySQL slightly later) - Ship HTML loader for `bun build`, bundling JS & CSS from .html - Get 100% of node’s http module tests to pass

Test Drive?! Wow!

Some projects start out being faster than alternatives, and then get slower as they add missing features and fix bugs. Bun is not one of those projects. bun.sh/blog/bun-loc...

Spent a couple hours at Free Play Worcester last Thursday night. What a great place! Such a cool vibe and so many old school video games and pinball machines. freeplaybar.com

Totally agree.

This is exactly what I thought as I watched jigsaw unfold post Java 8 - Oracle is solving problems I don’t have and their solutions are creating problems/work for me. I know the language syntax has improved since 8, but I ended up moving to C#/.NET as an early adopter of Core.

I’m not particularly interested in 3d printers, but this looks so cool!

Same.

Hey @rolldown.rs, what is the status of your Vite 6 integration / beta plans? I am very interested to see how the Voidzero integrated stack simplifies my life. I am a fan of Bun for this reason and while it is also ambitious, Voidzero, with OXC, offers more tooling and that is very exciting.

Started Stormlight Archive book 5: Wind and Truth yesterday. Prologue reeled me in. I love this series.

Seriously? Come on!? www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...

This looks interesting!

I haven’t seen them all, but this one is great. Highly recommended.

I love water heaters. I recognized last night just how much I loved mine when it failed and dumped 10s of gallons onto the basement floor. Now I love my new one.

The other day @scott.hanselman.com noted that sometimes when you are sick you feel worse horizontal. Today I’m experiencing the other pattern, daytime you feel sort of ok but then as the sun descends you start to feel worse. Ugh.
