My 1st job was in Newark DE. 75 miles round trip and 1.5 hrs of driving everyday. I hated it, but the job market sucked in 2012. I wanted to live/work in the same city and commute without a car, but job sprawl caused by Philly’s business and wage taxes forced driving culture on me.

Hard launching the new girl. Picked her up last month.

Sixers need to tank so they can keep that T6 protected pick and potentially land Cooper. Sit Embiid and PG the rest of the way.

I hate how Google Maps resets the location to your current location when you search “hotels” on maps and each time you change any of the filters. No you tech geniuses, I do not care about hotels in Philadelphia. Incredible UX by the guys changing Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America.

Good morning to everyone who tries to use regional rail to reverse commute instead of puttering along in their metal box on I-76, only to be screwed by a lack of investment in SEPTA because state politicians refuse to invest in transit by cause highways in rural PA are more important

Does the FCC even exist anymore? Why are they bleeping out the 5 seconds after a curse word drops?

This is so dope

That's my governor! 🥹🦅🏈

Have family coming into the city to try and watch the parade in South Philly. Not opening the sports complex parking lots is an odd choice, especially with NRG station right there. Just makes traffic worse in the rest of South Philly.

Josh is absolutely positioning himself for 2028. He gives the right answers, doesn't gossip, speculate or speak for others. Love having him as my governor.

I haven't followed Nova as much since Jay left, but I did notice all the noise people were making that Neptune should be fired when he didn't have immediate success. Nice to see he's found his footing in a tough conference.

Can the networks go back and reinterview every voter who believed Trump would tackle inflation, as if it was something the prior administration just allowed to happen carelessly?

Halftime show is a good reminder that the left will always win culture. Always. Art comes from curiosity, novelty, openness, the ability to understand & juxtapose multiple perspectives simultaneously, surprise & irony & layered meanings, all of which are alien to the authoritarian mind.

Anyone else reviewing the Economist Democracy Index and thinking about what country could be right for them? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eco...

Is reassuring to know that Susan Collins is concerned. Was worried about her there for a second. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...

Depending how this goes the rest of the week, I wonder if this keeps Kellen Moore from going to the Saints. Personally, I’d stay in Philly another year and see what opens up after next season. Compared to the other scenarios where owners have been forced to sell, this could be at the top.

Thankfully the KOZ (barely) saved the City from losing a large firm due to unfavorable business taxes. One day the city will figure out it’s easier to fix the business tax structure than scrambling each and every time a company has a site selection decision. www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia...

For those keeping track, @councilmemberjg.bsky.social supports a mixed-use project that brings more jobs to her district without displacing anyone, but didn’t support the same at 10th & Market www.globenewswire.com/news-release...

“Out of scale” is just a thoughtless reason for rejecting density. It's completely arbitrary that high-rises turn into low-rises so abruptly heading south from the CBD. Go Birds 🦅
