Knock at the door reveals delivery of a couple of boxes of HELLBLAZER OMNIBUS vol 2. Hefty tomes. Enfeebled by age, I needed assistance to get them indoors. Nice production, though. Pick one up... if you have the muscle, and spare cash.

A number of writers on here seemingly similarly abused by these chancers. Considered approaching Unbound myself a few years ago, but the set-up struck me as a likely Ponzi scheme so I decided to swerve them. I don't make any money from publishing my own stuff either, but at least that is my fault...

Government, of any notional ideology, having understood that 20th century mechanisms for the management of thought and its expression are inadequate in the 21st, and having at its disposal vastly powerful new tools of surveillance and oppression, is never going to voluntarily surrender them.

So we fail dismally to create a world in which the 'young' are not driven crazy by despair and then complain they lack the 'grit' to survive it. How long before these creeps are drumming up another 'character building' war to stiffen the national spine?

What Moore says next in the interview is more important, to me. Nobody is coming to save us, we have to do it ourselves, in community with each other.

Two minute VE Day silence observed, in the company of staff and two customers, while buying trousers in a vast Matalan branch. A bit incongruous... although the trousers were khaki.

A pleasant walk in the local woods. Lots of birdsong: blackcap, whitethroat, warblers, treecreeper, song thrush, mistle thrush, tits, wren, robin... but scarcely a butterfly to be seen, other than a couple of speckled woods. #butterflies #photography

Give it ten minutes and Starmer will be half-heartedly advocating for Muslims in stocks and pillories, at least.

Okay, this slow broil to extinction via cultural dementia is dragging on unbearably long now. Many people say... it's time to turn up the heat. See what crawls from the wreckage. Choose to worship it. Or kill it.

Results of local election for the ward in which I am cursed to reside not quite as dire as expected... only one of two dismal Tories replaced by a Farage weirdo.

Just been to vote in local election... and, no, it wasn't for the gurning creep in a spiv suit, with oiled hair and nasty shoes, mincing up and down outside the polling station displaying a Reform placard.

I'd pretty much forgotten this odd little diversion I got talked into a while ago. Never seen a copy as far as I remember. First page made me chuckle... and the last frame is a little eerie. recalledcomics.com/TwistedMetal...

Overexcited by his recent attacks in Yemen, Starmer orders drone strikes on fly-tippers and their vehicles. Or do I misunderstand? Not that I'd necessarily be against such deployments.

Time to plaster the walls of the world with your 'degenerate' art. Goes for words too. Writers need to get busy gritting the wheels of fascist minds. (Bone-idle me especially).
