Why? As far as I’m concerned, those people were dumb enough to fall for it. I mean, I understand - knowing you may lose your job and wanting to secure what you can - but they willingly left, knowing they wouldn’t be replaced. IMO, they’re part of the problem.

I heard something on the Jack podcast yesterday suggesting they requested to drop charges without prejudice, so they could bring the case back later. Otherwise, they know it will be pulled completely once the admin changes.
