I don't like much really but what I do like, I love passionately. Just like stuff like jogging, music, ice cream, TV, travel, good times. Now my parkrun thread although I do other stuff.

Running Point on Netflix. 💯

From our farming correspondent…

there is always a tweet

Is the 'Art of the Deal' to crash the economy globally or is that in another book Trump 'wrote'?

Have we reached the moment where Nige drives to Rupert's hotel and arrests him at gun point? #nightofthelongknives

A few weeks back I learnt that signing up to Brooks Run Club and tracking runs allows you to get rewards. Or you can donate your rewards to a parkrun pot, which once full, donates money to parkrun. Plus they have perks or challenges, like the current one to complete 4 parkruns & win a trip. Wow!

Movie idea - a reboot of Independence Day in which the President of the United States (Donald Trump) sides with the alien invaders.

More J. M. W. Turner at the Whitworth - In Light and Shade, Liber Studiorum. Plus Women In Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK, 1970 - 1990. Bobby Baker's 'An Edible Family in a Mobile Home', a recreation of the 1976 original. I ate part of the daughter, meringue, and had a nice cup of tea.

Beautiful, warm and fun Sunday morning at junior parkrun. 66 finishers, I was back in my usual marshal spot and I had the big green hand. Many hi-5s given, many smiles too.

I've seen Maria and The Last Show Girl at the cinema this week - Northern Lights and Home MCR. Both amazing visually, I loved the concept of being in La Callas' mind during her last week on earth, the hallucinations, the final attempts to sing, the past & it's haunting impact on her life. 1/2

Great parkrun morning. Back early as I didn't volunteer. Confession, didn't hit the optimal cheese toast point yesterday & guess what? Didn't run as fast, but got equal second fastest run of the year. Alex Park was packed today with of 400 finishers at the 30 minute point. Beautiful weather.

The obvious question, can you get a skate on it?

Beautiful parkrun morning. Sunny and lovely in South Manchester. In other news, my robot vacuum cleaner arrived. It's just vacuumed and mopped the kitchen floor. It sounds like David Sedaris when it speaks.

It's been a busy old week, upped my mileage & since last Saturday's parkrun I've run every day. That's resulting in additional pain in the knees but I feel fitter. Outlook for tomorrow continues to be good for South Manc parkruns but it is raining now. Woke to a bird singing in the tree outside.

I've given up the usual for Lent - Crisps, pop and chocolate goodness. It always benefits my running, my cholesterol level and my weight. But where is the joy? In other news, the weather for the golden hour on Saturday looks good. Sunny and a gentle breeze, 12-13 °C. Now that's joyous.

Our run group, achieved multiple PBs, SBs and 'fastest runs since <insert mm/dd>' last weekend at parkrun. Many started with C25Km & it stuck. Many are happy to run 5km but some have done 10km, 13.1 and 26.2 miles. This is what parkrun gives people. Success, achievement and joy. Access 2 parkrun.

When do they, Elon and his crew, break the seal on the box containing the Arc of the Covenant? It's going to kill all the Nazis, right?

Really sorry to see Russ Jefferys step down. It's a tough gig because everyone feels they own it & have a right to determine the direction. He stood firm and made it more accessible to more people, which is what you want. Why have a product for the few when you can change the lifestyle of the many?

It feels a bit like Peep Show episode when Super Hans ran to Windsor but I accidentally ran 15.5 miles on Sunday. My mate is doing the Marathon & I asked if I could tag along, intending to run less than 10 miles. In true Super Hans fashion, now looking to run 17 this Sunday.

Just another great parkrun weekend. You just can't buy what it gives. Beautiful.

Last week, no cheese toasty on a Friday then slower parkrun. This week, lots of cheese toasties on Friday then faster parkrun. It's cheese toasty parkrun science. Awaiting book deal, Nobel Prize, addressing the UN etc. Season's best parkrun. Scanning bants topped it all though. Great morning.

My friend is at the Brit Awards this weekend. I've asked him to storm the stage in full parkrun kit with a banner*. What should be on the banner? parkrun-related. Disclaimer: he nor I are afflicted with parkrun. *May not actually happen.

No real change in tomorrow's forecast - sunny, 3-5 °C with a light wind during the golden hour. It was cold this morning out and about but no frost. Today, I will be shaking off Lucca and Pisa holiday blues, eating cheese toasties, doing my squats & dead-lifts, working & resting.

It's looking bright and lovely for Saturday, could almost be perfect. A bit of sun, not too cold, but enough to know you are alive, and a light wind. Jumping on scanning after the run, again. A bit warmer and no rain for Sunday and junior. Could be a perfect parkrun weekend.

Just checked, got a first finisher in VM55-59. It's like playing the first leg away in 1982 & coming back home with an away goal, a win, and their striker got a straight red. Seriously, I love an age-group first finish but always sweeter in Europe. So many top-class runners at parkruns in Europe.

New favourite parkrun #5 Mura di Lucca. Needed more cheese but a lovely experience and I've seen two mummified Saints since Thursday.

I have a special skill in that I can recognise a parkrunner from 100m. You know, at airports and on guided tours, at train stations and in cafés. Not dressed in running gear. Just spot them. Did it today on a walking tour.

It's sunny here, with a light rain and a gentle breeze forecast for tomorrow morning. Had cheese for breakfast at the hotel and might be on the lookout for more cheese, maybe pizza for lunch. Off checking the course later. Not in Manchester but doing a parkrun.

parkrun magic moment #149184. As I walked to the street next to the park where we held our junior parkrun this morning, a car drove towards me. It slowed down and an arm appeared from the passenger-side window. I took the big green foam hand and we hi-5'ed. Magic.

Junior parkrun Sunday morning. Felt like more marshals thank participants which is a great thing. It's been like this for a few weeks & it changed when we missed a few weeks in January. Our junior values everyone, brings people into the community arms open. It leads to valued, caring friendships.

Fastest parkrun of the year, 40 seconds off last week's time. God bless you cheese toasties on a Friday for your contribution to this. The experiment continues so let's do it all again next week.

If you're thinking about a parkrun in Manchester tomorrow morning, then it's light wind & light rain forecast for the 'golden hour', 09:00 to 10:00. It has been cold all week, even today when we've had a bit of sun. Today I've eaten a massive amount of cheese toasties. Will there be faster running?

It's about time someone came up with the Scottish search engine. #Doogal

After run group yesterday, favourite parkruns #5... Monsal Trail Pure & simple, out and back, slight up-hill on the back bit, amazing café. Go for a long walk on the trail after.

I'm not a nutritionist and I'm not a Doctor, but I do run faster when I've eaten cheese based products and cheese the day before parkrun.

Junior parkrun, a joy. A few new junior parkrunners, fantastic regulars and some great, brilliant volunteers. I was stand-in RD but it went okay. Great morning and a coffee after. Hot-cross buns and coffee for breakfast.

If you do scanning at parkrun, set yourself a couple of challenges. Try to say something different to each person you scan. Try, the "computer says you've won a free parkrun next week" joke. Get a catchphrase too like "chuck it in the buck-et". There. #parkrun

Hears, via a reliable source that it's Ambassador Weekend. Have they handed out the robes, masksand candles yet?

Full of cold, woke up very early with a thumping head despite a good night's sleep. Again, had pre-parkrun nerves & was very surprised to run my fastest time this year. Jumped on scanning, lots of lovely people & had a laugh. Gave away lots of free parkruns for next week to those who got the joke.

Friday parkrun update: No frost in South Manchester. Outlook: A bit of rain. We are on hopefully, plus Alex Park's FB page is back - parkrun not Fame Academy singer although nice they named a park after them.

I have a cold, it is cold. Frost round here so I've retired to the parkrun bunker & started adding pins to the weekend's battle map. I've gone full Downfall-parkrun-extremist haven't I? Never seen myself ending up like this, but I will take it. New runners in the post yesterday so plan to continue.

Trump's taking financial advice from Liz Truss again, isn't he?
