Singapore - “a dystopian vision of the emerging future, where wealth is extracted into luxury offshore havens, protected externally by violent borders, and internally, by growing authoritarianism.” Is this what SEZs will give us? @europeanpowell.bsky.social - www.declassifieduk.org/inside-singa...

14 years of Tory austerity. Labour doubling down. It's time for different choices. #BackZack

Which makes government’s refusal to even consider it all the more reckless @weownit.org.uk👇

Despite damning evidence the govt clinging on to private ownership of water in England; people fleeced for 36 years. Prospect is sewage dumping, health hazards, lack of investment, higher domestic/business costs, tax dodges, asset-stripping. Public ownership is the only way out.

We want to make sure Rachel Reeves MP sees some important % and ££s: 🇬🇧 80% of UK millionaires support a 2% tax on wealth over £10m 🇬🇧 81% think it’s patriotic to pay their fair share We’re proud to pay and here to stay #taxthesuperrich #taxwealthnotwork

UK Govt AI copyright plan suffers fifth Lords defeat, 221 to 116 votes. Copyright enables many to earn a living. It is being ripped off by tech companies. All they need to do is to inform people, get a licence to use and pay. Govt says change might come in the future. I voted against the govt.

Your regular reminder 👇 🏥 81% want publicly owned NHS 🏫 78% want publicly owned schools 💧 73% want publicly owned water 🚂 70% want publicly owned rail ✉️ 70% want publicly owned mail 🚍 67% want publicly owned buses 💡 65% want publicly owned energy

Every single word. youtu.be/X1p7uBkeZkA?...

The UK is a relatively low tax economy This means the revenue raised by Government as a proportion of GDP has been low historically Less funding raised for infrastructure/healthcare/education etc A thread 🧵

HMRC admits not collecting £40bn tax last yr. Others say over £100bn. Big accounting/law firms, banks mastermind tax dodges. Rarely prosecuted. No big accounting firm prosecuted; get govt contracts. Fewer than FIVE criminal cases brought in 2023-2024, 16 in 2018-2019. Govts chase little people.
