I guess the insinuation is that earplugs, worn extensively, would lead to the same problem.
I imagine living somewhere in the rural desert is generally pretty quiet, maybe that's also problematic? Should we also test Antarctic researchers? /s

Personally, f-droid and google play. I'm also unlikely to directly install a random apk but I don't think it would hurt to make it available as part of your deploy process

Unless itβs someone youβre very close to, you also may not know what they think. Iβm not exactly running up to everyone and screaming that a coup has happened and we have a fascist government.

I looove My Neighbor Totoro. It has special significance for me. As a kid, I recognized myself in Satsuke, and one of my brothers would get upset insisting I had to be the boy who had a crush on her π

Can't help but contemplate the bleakness of that silver lining. I wish it would somehow bite him in some way. It seems literal fascist salutes can't even do that. But I'm all for mocking Apartheid Boy

My lazy self immediately thought 'movie marathon', which, you know, absolutely down for if I weren't on the other, other side of the world

If I recall correctly you predicted this and sometimes specifically predicted how individuals would vote. (I could be misremembering, if so, I apologize.)
Did any of the votes surprise you?

Both. Officially, "mushrooms" only if you can afford one of those bougie therapies, because I'm not in the practice of telling people to do risky things. Safety is important

If relevant, one of those may help give you clarity about how much not transitioning is hurting you.
I cannot speak to the precise risks involved. I'm trying to say looking at yourself, as if from the third person, can be incredibly insightful, and I've mentioned a tool that can facilitate that

Mushrooms make you smarter.
Rando: what kind of mushrooms? π
Me: um, uh, lion's mane, cordyceps, liberty caps, ...
Rando: oh so you're boring

Wait we don't get to pick the superpower? I just want to finish my book then write another book, that's why I was trying to choose smart(tm) π
I'll save the blind dude anyway but if this gives me some obligation to spend all my time doing superhero things, not gonna be too happy about that

Idk, I went to a nuclear waste site to bathe in radioactive goo and get smart from it, but it turns out those barrels are full of concrete! π€

As an American, 'a bit' sounds like an invitation.
With that offhand comment, I've just made an interesting realization, but don't worry, this striking moment of self-realization will fade

Okay translating seems to usually work when the language is marked correctly, but doesn't seem to indicate when there's some other failure.
Maybe showing what language a post is marked as would be a good feature? Some way to override that would also be cool, tho more complex UX π

Interestingly I found the virtuoso component being used uses absolute positioning for anchoring. I'm not entirely sure why but it seems that would leave it prone to breaking flex boxes

I don't think they generally experience cognitive dissonance over it because it's probably all egosyntonic.
My guess is they're more likely to experience discomfort when people like Putin express support. Hopefully that triggers introspection sometimes but I don't hold my breath

I want you to contemplate their perspectives and feel what they feel. The goal isn't to "be political".
But regardless their environments are inherently political. Without that, there is no conflict, there is no journey, and there is no growth. Worlds without politics are worlds without people. 2/2

Ugh, frustrating to see. Really annoying to have my own politics constantly considered esoteric and/or radical, but it's good to understand this is fairly often specifically an American problem. I'm just trying to package ideas outside the Overton window without alienating my potential audience π

If these resources already exist, I need to be pointed in the right direction.
The other side of this is I need to influence a key decision maker. I'm hoping to eventually get him directly connected with authoritarianism researchers but there's work that needs to be done first

This perspective has led me to start viewing fascism as an antithesis of community, determined to infiltrate and destroy. I'm trying to brainstorm the development of a platform agnostic framework for educating online community organizers on identifying threats and protecting their communities.

To me it feels like such an obvious exploitation of alienation where alienation itself, correct me if I'm wrong, seems to be the major catalyst allowing the rise of fascism under neoliberal watch.
