Are there not any checks and balances that exist in the American Political system? This is so insane! Why are the many intelligent politicians not taking a stand?? As a Canadian I am baffled by this!

I want to know why we are not hearing an uproar from all of the strong Republican leaders who KNOW this, and so many other things, are not okay!! Are they honestly so scared of Trump that they would let the country go down the tubes?!
