The head of the opinion section quit. Journalists on the news side warned of encroachment. The day is just beginning.

“The world stands on the brink of a crisis with respect to international humanitarian law. Violations—once seen as aberrations—are now persistent, widespread, and, perhaps most alarmingly, increasingly met with indifference by states.” #IHL

One of the potential implications of sanctions for the ICC, is the risk it poses to key tech providers (Microsoft, Accenture). The OTP is heavily reliant on this tech and if providers disengage from the court this would likely have a significant & rapid impact on the Court's investigative abilities.

Shocking that any American would associate w/ a political extremist, secessionist, & Bosnian Genocide denier like Milorad Dodik. Moreover, given that Dodik is under both US & UK sanctions, Giuliani being (presumably) flown out to Bosnia by Dodik is also legally questionable.

If these questions are designed to hire people with no grasp on reality, U.S. national security is at significant risk. Was Jan. 6 “an inside job?” Was the 2020 presidential election “stolen?” Who were the “real patriots” on January 6? Who won the 2020 election? Who is your “real boss?”

This is an absolutely remarkable memo — and a betrayal of both the Constitution and the American political tradition. In the US, by *explicit contrast* with interwar fascist governments, the state is not supposed to be an extension of the personality of the chief executive.
