I thought it quite poignant listening to Radio 4 this morning. They led with the story of Holocaust Memorial Day and then a few stories later talked of the Gazans.
Did we learn nothing?

It's as if Republicans have created a pseudo-religion. With a holy trinity of money, patriotism, and Jesus (in that order). Instead of preaching love and caring, they preach nastiness, hatred, and retribution. Not the Jesus I know.

So many don't seem to realise that North Sea oil doesn't get used in the UK. The multinationals pay for licences to drill & then sell it on the international market. If we want security from price fluctuations and shortages caused by war, we need to be using as much renewable energy as possible.

I consider capitalism will eventually destroy itself by scraping every last penny for profit for the rich.
Isn't it better to ensure workers have good wages and are able to buy the goods these greedy corporations make? Keeping people poor and unable to spend doesn't help the economy.

Just tell yourself this is the planning stage and you are gathering ideas. It's all part of the process.

Same in the UK. The joke amongst teachers is that teaching is the only profession where you steal stationary from home to take to work instead of the other way round

She's been on a steep learning curve and seems to be relaxing into the role now. She's doing a great job.

I did delete my X account but decided to reinstate it - I didn't want the right wing to be able to spout their rubbish without it being challenged. Today, it's full of how Starmer's government is about to fall because he's 'keeping secrets' over the Southport killings.

I'm in the UK, Beau of the Fifth Column is my go-to to understand US events. I consider it fair and trustworthy with factual information & explanation, not propaganda taking centre stage. Beau has recently taken a step back, and his wife is now fronting the channel.

Capitalism, scraping every penny of profit instead of giving value & service, will cause its own demise. People already realise something is wrong, yet haven't grasped the cause yet. Around the world, they're seeing right-wing politicians as the answer. Eventually, they'll work out they're not.

With a business, those who don't pull their weight and don't bring in money can be fired. With a country, you can't get rid of the sick, the old and those not old enough to work. Those who think a businessman would make a good president are wide of the mark.

One lunchtime, the only time I had to visit the toilet was during the 2 minutes it took to heat my lunch in the microwave.
