Reminder that this country had an insurrection on Jan 6 and Trump refused to send in the National Guard.

Particularly pathetic as a fake emergency but that is on brand for this admin

The ambitious exhibition, which the community can see for free Sunday, is both a display of profound artistic expression and an act of defiance after federal funds to preserve and show the quilts were slashed.

Keeping an eye on this. It could be beneficial if blue states joined together to provide essential services to their people.

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

The return of Abrego-Garcia to face due process in the US, after Trump officials swore he would never ever return to the US, is a reminder that politics matters and pressure works. Don’t give up. Don’t let the fascists relax.

Cheering you on from the Bay Area 🎉. LA county is as big as many countries (10 million people) and as diverse as the world. 🌏 I grew up there over half a century ago.

Some day? • Recognition of 2 states, Israeli and Palestinian • An open border between them, allowing free movement • Institutions shared by both states to manage shared issues together • Jerusalem an open city, shared capital • The need to repair the injustices of the past—without creating new ones

🥚 bookshop.org/p/books/the-... "Alongside powerful critiques of popular orphan narratives...journalist Kristen Martin explores the real history of orphanhood in the U.S., from the 1800s to the present. "...a searing indictment of America's consistent inability to care for those who need it most."

Can we try matriarchy now?

“We face real and dangerous antisemitism in this country. But instead of working to address the problem, President Trump plays on antisemitism as a rhetorical pawn to justify his xenophobia. American Jews will not be exploited."

Not a single g*dd*amned thing here does anything to protect Jews, but every one of these acts is an attack on Jewish values

Got asked on an AMA tonight: “can you talk about why SNAP is so important?” So I shared my personal experience. 7 kids in our family and food stamps kept us fed when my dad got sick, lost his job, and mom had to look for work. SNAP is an investment in people. I won't support ANY cuts to SNAP.

Antisemitism is real. I worry about antisemitic violence every day. All the more reason I am furious with the administration and the enablers for this. The efforts to attack higher education and to dumb down America have nothing to do with Antisemitism. In fact, this makes it worse.
