Yeah, it also makes you wonder how good the paper was if its conclusion required finding those amendments unconstitutional. Doesn't sound like an A, or award-winning. 🤷♀️

In other words, evidence doesn't matter, especially when Trump's gut tells him otherwise.

So, what they did in refusing to show the warrant is ok? It's confusing.

California just introduced a bill to require police identification with no masks.

Like situations where fake officers show up at your home in wee hours, and say "This is the police!". That's what happened to Minnesota state legislators. They told him he wasn't police, and then he said it was a robbery and pushed in and shot. How is a person to know?

And then they'll charge you for impersonating federal law enforcement. It really is no win.

There's an express exception for major sporting events like the World Cup and the Olympics.

But this is also extortion- allowing countries to escape these restrictions if they agree to accept third-country renditions from the US. A Trumpian mafia-style twist.

I wondered how much he even understood what he was saying. I doubt very much he's well-versed in Army history.

Disappointed CA didn't challenge DOJ's assertion that Trump spoke to Newsom the night before he issued proclamation. Trump gave his call log to a reporter, and they spoke on the 7th, I believe.

This is the kind of thing you say, and then ask if you really said it aloud, because a sane person wouldn't. But right-wingers have no filter.

Trump glorifies violence. The bloodier the better in his view. That's strength and toughness to him. Look at his love for boxing and UFC. Remember his glee over a protester getting roughed up at a rally. There's a character defect in there, when you enjoy other people being hurt.

With all the universities in the LA area, there have to be some empty dorms this summer, right? Might even be able to make a deal to use the kitchen facilities.

The charging documents allege he was texting a third person, but don't include the alleged messages. I don't know if they plan to amend later.

Show the math, Stephen. Migrants are not getting federal benefits. Deportation flights on military planes cost a fortune. Not convinced you're saving us money.

Someone posted last night about an amendment to the law so that it no longer requires the consent of governors. All 50 governors objected, but it passed anyway.

We had a Wiccan invited to give prayer in the state House, and a Republican rep objected by turning his back to her during her time on the podium. Just skip the opening prayer next time, instead of making it about you.

Why don't FIFA & CONCACAF & Olympics bar this kind of visa restriction as a condition of awarding tournaments to countries? It messes with the whole purpose of international competition.

Depends on the Democratic contenders. The one statewide Dem is running for Governor, and has built crossover support during his time as Auditor. That could help on election day. Not a lot of name recognition among Dem Senate candidates so far, though the one who declared today has good experience.

I think that someone has also posted that there's a statute that requires international agreements (like for the prison in El Salvador) to be disclosed to Congress on a monthly (?) basis. Don't know if the government's done that yet.

May open spaces for American applicants, but not going to decrease the cost. In fact, if total university tuition income goes down because international students aren't paying full price, the university still needs that income. Some of it may be replaced by financial aid. But tuition may increase.
comment in response to
post
You don't do that by cutting off international students, who usually pay full price for a degree. They subsidize domestic students.

In some states, the state agency is likely the one that drafted the law the agency is interpreting. It doesn't make sense to ignore the agency's interpretation. This is a bad law.
