I managed to put in about 7 more hours of Avowed today. My eyes are square now. 😆 It's my first surprise of the year. Initially, I didn't expect to like it much, but I'm into it. So into it. The world's gorgeous, companions, exploration & combat are fun. The story is intriguing. Don't sleep on it!

Last year, I reported that Bungie had fired former exec Chris Barrett for misconduct. Barrett then sued for wrongful termination, which surprised me given that I'd seen his texts to subordinates and figured Bungie could publish them in response. Which they now have. www.scribd.com/document/830...

Warming up to Avowed. 🥰 Only scratched the surface, about 4 hours in, but I like the world & dialogues so far. Getting used to the combat system (wizard is fun so far!) & I have my usual issues with 1stP/3rdP camera. I'd prefer if the 3P camera was more polished like Veilguard, but I'm invested.

I hope we get another Dragon Age down the line, because I want to learn more about the Executors and what the team planned for them & I hope *somehow* there'll be a way for some of the veteran writers to return to the project alongside new talent.

EA wanted it to match DA Origins lifetime sales in 3 months. They wanted it to get half of the sales DA Inquisition got in 6 years in 3 months. Unrealistic expectations? More like intentional sabotage to gut BioWare for parts and get an excuse for less progressive art moving forward.
