The music alone puts it up there

Normally quite enjoy the theatrics of your videos, but (beyond the enjoyable conversation) the simplicity of you standing there slapping photos and labels on a wall was quite entertaining

Other people have pointed out the performative cruelty as pretended masculinity thing, but another part of it is that politics is largely built on simplistic, emotional stories. Complicating factors (in this case, empathy) about those not in the "us" category threaten those stories, so are discarded

If you get it on your chest, you can start or escalate arguments by pulling this move, and that's sort of iconic

At the end of the day, it's a frustrated daddy kink. Shame in said kink leads to sublimation into confused politics

I'm going to start posting more music and art stuff here, like composer demos & saxophone covers: www.youtube.com/channel/UCDC... We can read together here: www.youtube.com/channel/UCet... Or if you're on New Play Exchange, I do quite like writing theater: newplayexchange.org/users/61777/...

A conservagay is mad in the comments because I’m not transphobic and apparently that makes my critiques of the Log Cabin Republicans hypocritical? Lol

A decent chunk of them don't seem to give it much thought and simply jump at the opportunity to perform cruelty for internet points (which is also pretty bad, to be clear)

Reading their history, I can’t help but feel a certain respect for the members of the org from yesteryear. But it seems like their courage has gradually waned since the 70s, picked up pace in 2012, and really started to crash in the first Trump presidency

Question to ponder if you don’t want to watch: did we invent vampires as an extension of the violent vulnerability of hickeys or did we invent hickeys because we long for the delicious desire of the vampire?

It's also important to familiarize yourself with the organizations and people behind Project 2025. Why does it seem like conservatives, who had disavowed it, are lining up behind it? Well, because their hard hitting orgs are the people who made it. youtu.be/jUkbmjpeVuI

Beyond that, we have to be able to engage in culture. You convince people by talking to them. Having a shared piece of art you can talk about together enthusiastically (positively or negatively) is a great entry point to friendship and political organizing. You can't always be on. And that's okay

I once went into detail about how a bunch of the orgs and people behind the Mandate for Leadership were Trump employees but Republican commenters acted like it was wild to suggest that connection mattered 🙃

Plenty of times you’ve even basically said, “hey - this isn’t a rule. It might not apply to you or your work at all. That’s okay.” People are so… sigh I’ve always found your general vibe of helpfulness and care refreshing. The world can use more of that. Thanks for the vids :)
