Remembering Kevin Drum talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/remem...

No further debate—Trump’s DEI policy is clearly racist. The Pentagon is flagging for removal, historic photos of Black & brown heroes who served, claiming they “promote DEI.” The military was segregated until 1948. Black people served while facing racism. Where was the DEI? Erasure is the point.

Thank you to @fox5atlanta.bsky.social for allowing me to share my thoughts. The livelihoods of small business owners are being jeopardized by billionaires like Kelly Loeffler and Elon Musk and we won't stand for it.

In 20 years there’s going to be a section of the US history curriculum that lists key events in US racism as redlining, white flight, and the 2025 purge of racism from history books and government records

Earlier this week, Governing Magazine covered my efforts to encourage local governments to respond to federal layoffs with hiring initiatives. These layoffs disproportionately hurt cities like Atlanta and I'm proud that we're a national leader in this work. www.governing.com/workforce/lo...

1/ Thank you the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for covering this critical issue and including my perspective in their reporting. The impact of these cuts on veterans in Georgia and across the country cannot be ignored. www.ajc.com/news/georgia...

Mr. Sood's death was not only tragic, but entirely preventable. I'm proud to join alongside CM Farokhi to not only demand the restoration of this crossing, but for Atlanta to reinvest in the Peachtree shared street experience that was promised to our citizens long ago.

It's that time again! Join us for our next Atlanta City Council District 4 townhall, next Saturday, March 1 at 11am. We'll be kicking things off Plywood Place at Lee and White. See you there!

Trump is already in the process of illegally abolishing the Department of Education and Department of Labor so the useless Democratic strategists advising us to keep our powder dry on USAID should just go away forever. Either you fight for the principle and all the agencies, or none of them

Last year, the Atlanta City Council went toe to toe with big tech and won. By prohibiting data centers in core neighborhoods across the city, we helped protect our neighborhoods and preserved spaces for housing, retail, and community gathering places.

1/ As an Afghanistan veteran who served alongside our Afghan allies and as an elected official currently serving the City of Atlanta, I am especially dismayed by the Trump administration's decision to cancel flights for nearly 1,660 Afghan refugees.

Welcome to Bluesky, Mayor!

"Donald the Dove" 🙄

Paying our final respects to Georgia's native son, the late, great, President Jimmy Carter. Extremely thankful for his service to our country, to the State of Georgia, and to the people of Atlanta.

Leaving behind many great moments in 2024 and looking forward to an even more amazing 2025. Happy New Year y'all! 🎊

Falcons gonna Falcon 😑

Atlanta is leading a national movement of cities to challenge the proliferation of data centers, and I am proud to have played a pivotal role in driving this effort forward.

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Senator Vincent Fort. As a novice organizer working in NPU-V, I was proud to know Senator Fort had our back at every step. And as a newly elected official, I've always heeded his call to do right by our communities. What a legacy. He will be sorely missed.

Sad, sad news: Vincent Fort, a longtime champion of liberal causes in Georgia, dies at 68 ajc.com/politics/vin...

1 District 4 is home to several city-run recreation centers — including Dunbar Neighborhood Center, James Orange Recreation Center, and C.A. Scott Recreation Center — that are well-positioned to serve as critical resources during extreme weather events.

Go Dawgs

After widespread public outcry, legislation that would have gone against City Council's recent data center ban and built one in the West End was ultimately squashed. #atlpol www.ajc.com/news/atlanta...
