Germaine Greer had breakfast at an adjacent table to me in a Sydney cafe.

One of the very few things that could make Australia an even more tedious country than it is would be importing English class/supermarket discourse.

Bloody hell, it’s not the day to be flying.

POT-AU-FEU OR GTFO.

The YouTube content ghouls have churned out their baseless "explanations" of the Air India crash. No need to even wait for the corpses to cool before using them to get some ad revenue.

What a pity.

It’s stupid, but at some level you have to admire Trump for getting the dumbest Americans to cheer on new taxes on themselves.

Just encountered “gainer” Bluesky. Good lord, that’s enough internet for today.

Further: any left-wing project is going to have a far higher chance of success if it's actually enjoyable for those participating in it.

Such diversity. Really reflecting Australia in 2025.

This is like Pravda celebrating the technical achievements of the No. 3 Agricultural Machines Factory. So much better than the West, comrade! And no, it's not your job to ask questions.

Fascinated by these commercials for AI where some young ambitious things gets AI to slop out a presentation or something mere minutes before rocking up to a meeting. Are there actually businesses where it wouldn't be immediately apparent to all competent people?

I’m not sure forcing China to accelerate developing those technological capabilities it currently doesn’t have is the geopolitical masterstroke some seem to think.

As always, the EU works for European capital, and couldn't give a fuck about European citizens.

*sad trombone noise*

Humiliating for NATO secretary-general Mark Rutte, who just yesterday was telling us that the US is "completely committed" to NATO.

One of the best games ever.

THIS. Where is the standard for health funding as a per cent of GDP? Or education funding? Or welfare?

“Traylor! Put on your shacket so you don’t catch cold!”

One might also say BA passengers are being treated to a lovely view of Pratt's Bottom.

I guess that’s one way to move yourself six hours closer to your inevitable, looming death.

California NIMBYs oppose a bill that legalizes denser housing near transit because it “discriminates against disabled people”… I wish I was making this up if you live in California, call or email your state senator in support of SB79 because building more housing near transit is good, actually

Liberals love to sneer at poor people, then wonder why they don’t vote Democrat. Those stupid poors, getting what they deserve, eh?

My Apple Watch informs me I’m “smashing” my exercise ring this week.

One of my current distractions is the YouTube channel of a NZ guy who’s outsourced his entire life to ChatGPT. Yes, really.

Dachshund with patterned tiles, 2025.

Christmas in July just gets worse.

Hang this in the Louvre.

As a heads up for the political left, people can probably be persuaded by some (many, even) left-coded answers to reducing crime. But if you make it a choice between "crime is fine, actually, get over it" and right-wing solutions, well, even Duterte would win.

The best thing about this is that he fought so hard to get here, and he’s got another 4 years of it to suffer through.

Considering how much of the online left is defending the stupid “you should let strangers use your bank account to funnel money to people in a foreign country because vibes” discourse, perhaps it’s understandable why we so rarely win.

"I'd do it myself but.....you know."

I have pinkeye, which has obviously been caused by reading your skeets.
