Indulgences sounds so much classier than bribe. And here I was thinking the only thing we were going to bring back was the plague.

Does anyone on this thread even know what the CBO is or why he’s being asked this question? The GOP is claiming the CBO is partisan because they did the math showing the house bill explodes the deficit. The director is a Bush alum and is trying to explain they just run the numbers.

If you want a consumption tax like VAT, there are better ways to do it and that the only way you could ever replace income taxes. People would hate that just as much since it would be 20-30%.

It pains me to say this but at least the moron wants the peace prize more than a hotel in Moscow.

It must be nice to just bounce through life with no understanding of anything else in the world. How could you possibly believe that Putin was someone you could reason with?

Totally not a guy that credibly bombed his own citizen’s apartment buildings to build support for an escalation in a breakaway province.

The rest of the world doesn’t watch Fox News and subscribe to a cult of personality. Any reasonable observer has correctly realized he was a moron before he was elected the first time.

Traffic would move a lot faster if we used a drag racing style light and gave people feedback on their reaction times.

The only real question is did he do it himself or yell at a poor junior dev until they did it while he loomed behind them and made “suggestions”.

“I don’t tolerate conflicts of interest, I DEMAND IT in my administration”. -Donald Trump probably.

Even assuming that chronic sickness is a choice, does he think it was a lack of patriotism that was keeping people from hoovering double cheeseburgers and smoking filterless cigarettes?

One day, we will find the bully that stuffed Miller in a locker and hold him accountable.

There are some people I would not dissuade from trying their luck with a grizzly.

How exactly would you put a tariff on intellectual property? And even if you could, foreign producer sells movie for $1 to US based distributor and suck up the $1 tariff. This is even dumber than normal, is he huffing glue or something?

Roads are for communists. Real freedom is a jeep jamboree like experience every time you need a gallon of milk.

Could we just let them loose at the White House? So much crazy there I doubt anyone would notice.

100% agree. I don’t think he’s ever been very smart but he could string together sentences that roughly made sense in the 80’s and 90’s.

Some of these assholes won the tech version of the lottery. Just dumb ass luck that they entered the market at the right time and note they think they are infallible. Anyone that’s worked in tech has worked with guys twice as smart as Musk, Zuckerberg and the like.

Is it even legal to consider economic basics like supply and demand in federal policy these days?
comment in response to post
Not really. That was a key contributor to the 2008 financial crisis.

Pretty sure watching that would have caused me to stroke out. Just reading about it would not be approved by 9/10 doctors.

Sadly there are plenty of well educated people that are going along with this nonsense. We will also need solve a lot of other issues.

Until recently it was illegal in Kentucky to sell alcohol on Election Day since it was believed you could buy votes for a few free beers. I’m sure a chance at $1M wouldn’t sway anyone at all.

We could eliminate all social security fraud if we stopped paying out social security. Because rooting out fraud is clearly the MOST important thing.

I wouldn’t assume they are even putting the data in GovCloud. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were running local copies on their personal PC’s for convenience.

If this was valid (it’s not), announcing your plan to everyone is a really dumb way to validate your assumption.

Money is obviously the only possible reason someone should care about the killing of thousands of innocent people in a brutal war.

DOGE is generally doing things the wrong way but implemented properly this isn’t a bad idea. If this was used as a level 1 support, it might even be better than the average human. It would still need an easy way to escalate to tier 2+ support and not just endless incorrect support loops.
