we're in legit first they came for territory and a lot of people have been failing at this test they cite all the time

That appeared to be a great read by Eille there. Looked like the runner was committed to the cross with his first touch so he backed off to cut off a direct lane to an open runner. He was in a tough spot but dealt with it well imo #RBNY

Penso is doing a good job with this game. Quick on the whistle but trying to give every advantage where she can. This isn’t an easy one b/c it’s kinda scrambly and a bit chippy, but the officiating has been consistent and helped manage the game well I think #RBNY

The funny thing about the commentators saying that Atlanta is trying to deny us that central outlet ball from the backline is that we haven’t been able to use that for any of these first three games. I don’t think it’s that teams are denying it to us. It’s that we can’t use it #RBNY

Gjengaar’s pass selection has been absolutely awful. Reactionary stuff. He has no idea what options his receiver might have, what he’s setting them up for or what he expects them to do next. He’s just getting rid of the ball #RBNY

Last week against Nashville we used an unbalance in our formation to get Harper isolated in space on the right side. Atlanta probably won’t sell out to our positioning the same way, but it would benefit Gjengaar a lot to attempt some level of that #RBNY

Julian isn’t scanning enough imo #RBNY

Julian! Go for GOAL #RBNY

My kingdom for a midfield metronome #RBNY

This feels like a game where maybe a little bit of possession would actually be a good thing #RBNY

Have you ever played 3 a side? You know how you have that moment where the one person in the back is trying to put the ball into play, but all the other two players can to is just check back and forth to the ball while that guy doesn’t play it in b/c no one is really open? Thats this game #RBNY

my International Women’s Day (Sports Edition) take: put women on panels about sports at sports conferences, rather than just putting them on panels about being women in sports

What in the name of Redd is Sean Nealis doing dropping so far behind the line while Atlanta set up their cross there? #RBNY

We’ve seen our three center backs have an awful lot of the ball in these first three games. Like, I don’t have the numbers to back that up, but it feels like teams sit off of them quite a bit, letting them pass back and forth, picking their progression angle #RBNY

This turf is so bad. It plays like garbage. Every ball skip-hops as it travels, and it makes first touches so loose. Turf is turf but this is bad turf even for turf…you know? #RBNY

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who make football what it is—players, coaches, fans, and everyone driving the game forward. Women’s football has come so far, and that’s because of the passion, fight, and determination of those who refused to be sidelined.

Might save a life.

bathroom bills were considered a hugely bigoted overreach a decade ago and the backsliding on trans rights is the result of a sustained propaganda campaign by elites the pendulum can swing back the other way if you try, and anyone who is not willing to do so is showcasing their own bigotry

it really is mindblowing that they've gotten so far with the dumbest hypothetical argument based on something that has never happened in the history of all women's sports

Just got home a bit ago. Way too cold to post at the game, but I have so many thoughts #RBNY

This kinda confirms what I thought I saw, which was that it was a very left-sided game. #RBNY played very unbalanced, though before Harper went off they were using that unbalance to isolate him on his fullback on several occasions. He had that whole side on skates

Every time I fly, I always pick a window seat. I stare out of it and watch the world go by. We live in such a beautiful world. It’s big enough for all of us.

So the answer seems to be that the bulk of the initial playmaking will come via the wide CBs. First read was up the line to the wingbacks, with the second read being Morgan/Forsberg dropping into the midfield line. Cincy had this pegged right from the start #RBNY

Still not great that Gjengaar can’t get into a game where we need a goal, and Harper is stuck at fullback #RBNY
