Just saw a video of the latest eruption of Etna. A bunch of tourists slightly walking faster away, some stopping to shoot video and some walking back up to get better shots and I'm pretty sure none of them have ever heard of a pyroclastic flow

I would argue that in addition to the "reluctance to consult agreeably" - its that the "Crown's" version of consultation does not permit dissent. No mechanism within the process of consultation exists for Indigenous people to veto projects they would deem harmful to them or their lands.

No arting today. Was an entire computer day but I'm super happy. I finally got all my VMs set up & talking to each other (MySQL Vm, Lucee VM & a Mint VM to admin both), have a separate network for the public websites, and now I'm actually building website stuff. All on open source software.

Hey #yeg you might want to get out and get your walk/bike in. Much of the rest of the day looks to be less good. I use www.windy.com with the PM2.5 layer to see what's on the way. Also looks like that we'll be out of the smoke for several days starting early tomorrow.

Summer. Where my plans to be healthy & environmentally responsible by riding my bike is highly dependent on whether I can breathe due to wildfire smoke due to the climate emergency. And if I can't, I have to drive my car, making things worse. I hate this so much.
