Yup. I'm basically never worried about them but I am angry at the government and police almost every day.

That's pretty much everyone I meet. Not necessarily a hug, but almost always appreciated.

In almost 3 years of having my bay door open, I've only ever felt unsafe maybe 3 times. These folks are simply doing their best against the worst possible situation. Much caused by our governments.
Even if you can't help them. See them. Talk to them.
Say "have a good day"

Kindness repays. I have had "my regulars" actually chase off some bad actors & once one was disgusted by the mess someone had made, they cleaned it up. I offered to pay and they said. "No, I'm happy to do it"

When I traveled for work a lot, I would do anything possible to avoid. And would never ever do a US connection through there.

And frankly, all of these folks were far more polite than a very large portion of the people in this city.

And the last one really got to me today. Would it be ok to introduce myself?
What kind of society do we live in that someone has to ask that.

This is all in 2 days. And the story is this.
These are people. Sometimes troubled. Sometimes simply shat upon by the system.
They deserve respect & dignity. And you can talk to them and help m them if possible. Many times, all it takes is trying to find something to pump up a basketball

A guy stopped and said. 'Hey man. I like your painting."
A woman stopped and said "hey, I like your art, do you mind if I introduce myself?"

Guy asked me if I had an air pump & I said yes but he wanted to pump up a basketball & I looked but didn't have a needle He said "thanks for trying"
A very bent senior asked me if she could have the bottles. I said I didn't have any but she said "the 2 over there" which were in the parking lot

A guy asked if I had any bottles. I had some empty cream cartons & 1 bottle. He said "every little bit helps"
A guy asked if I had a hose. I said no but if you need water come in the sink's over there. "Thanks man"

Both Microsoft & Apple have the absolute worst sign in experience possible. You're the top 2 tech companies in the world and your user experience is the fucking worst.

It's an Amazon thing. They advertise it as a front or back pack but it's not great for biking as is because it wants to slip forward/off as you lean forward but I fixed that with a bungee around my back. I wanted one where Sam could have his head out. There are others that are more enclosed.

I'm old enough to remember geologist David Johnston who was over 6 miles away from St. Helens and still died.

That said, pyroclastic flows can reach 100s of kph... So maybe it doesn't matter.
