Absolutely and expecting people to abstain from it to protect certain types of jobs is not going to cut it. Discussing policy options to tackle sudden changes in the labour market might be more fruitful

would be a shame if I hadn’t been inspired by your posts due to some trolls. To be fair it was LinkedIn that got me, but I’m sure you can reach, inspire and encourage ppl here too…
Now I am getting some of the same questions ppl throw at you and can work on creating the answers their fears

It all boils down to the question why you post in the first place.
You were definitely one of the fire starters in terms of AI for me. Now I do responsible AI for a living in one of the Nordic leading banks in GenAI, influencing how it lands… it’s a dream job

Recommend the paper on the Dark Bench for GenAI

Ended up declining btw. Risk of failure > opportunities. Wonder if this is normal and facilitates further contraction excluding small new players from basic trust to grow.

There is no clear tell from the outside anymore and I guess soon you can automate building the whole thing, so cost and knowledge needed for building a strong scam will be very low and outperform the time needed to discover.
I guess reputation and advise of trusted sources will be invaluable…

I spent 2h last night trying to figure out through web presence if an event company trying to book me is legit or a scam. Realised that it’s probably legit, but their entire presence could be faked with ai easily. Testimonial Videos, LinkedIn profiles and posts etc. 1/2

Hm wenn man eure Geschäftsführerin um Quellen für Aussagen über anerkannte Wissenschaftler bittet, wird man auch geblockt. Könnt ihr da wirklich mit dem Finger auf andere zeigen?

But how’s that center left data?

What does he mean with Crown Jewels? Any facts here?

To my knowledge AI providers are secretive with their training data. What brings you to the conclusion it’s Center left?

Still good to have one of those rare civil internet discussions/disagreement.

Then we disagree on the pub. If I had a pub, in the beginning, I’d try to save as much money as I can. I do agree to the societal dangers of multi-field disruption. This is however not addressed on an individual level, but must be tackled through policy on country level or higher

My point is that the stance is not competitive, meaning it won’t prevail. People knowing how to use AI achieving formidable results and bridging knowledge gaps are the future. Not using AI will be like not googling for search, so shaming ppl for using AI for things they can’t will be obsolete soon
comment in response to
post
Irrespective whether I think it’s good or bad there will be notable change. Like streaming killed video stores, farming machines killed oldschool farming tools, AI will affect the job market. Shaming ppl using AI is not competitive. The important piece is how to do it in a sensible way

I think a graphics artist for the pub next door is overkill. If it can get something cool cheaply, I’m all for it. The ethics concern for me lies in the copyright breach that enabled the model to do this, but that’s not the question here. (1/2)

2. I think it’s normal that humans use tech for tasks they can’t do without. Someone might not be able to create a good logo for their small business. What’s wrong with using AI to do that?
comment in response to

Agreed, it misses key questions, but ppl shouldn’t brush off the self reflection it offers. US rather accept a felon, dismantling the gov., abolishing rule of law, undermining NatSec, crashing markets and taking Qatar bribes than a democratic rule. How could dems lose to this? Just other ppl fault?

(7) so I see this not as a blip, but an open attack, maybe an escalation of power struggles. That it caught him off guard indicates that he and/or Lars lack the network to secure majorities and know what’s going on. If it looks like a blip then he feels figured it out, but it was never minor

(6) also centralists in his own party could have been part of this.
On the other side he doesn’t go far right enough yet for some and with Spahn he might have someone who will test him
comment in response to

(5) Both are threats to shift far right if need be towards SPD and puts left parliamentarians in a situation where they have to be indirectly supporting racists, which is unacceptable and might cost them votes. So this could have been a deliberate signal from SPD that he can’t overreach
comment in response to

(4) so the question is, will they get the AfD votes back when they start playing hardball and go really far right or should they work with the center and left and stay on course.
Merz is trying to do both. He appointed a racist as culture minister and awarded Spahn with a big role
comment in response to

(3) Still, the CDU is a Christian party and for the churches and many Christians the AfD is a nono as well as becoming the AfD.
So far, the CDU has only made some minor moves to the far right which cost them votes, because it appalled Christians and failed to convince AfD voters to return
comment in response to

(2) So one part thinks that it is the right move to shift to the extreme right to get votes back and work with AfD. Cherry on top: It allows them to pressure SPD in negotiations and might appease Thiel & Followers in the US.
comment in response to

(1) I think this analysis doesn’t go deep enough. I think CDU is in an identity crises. Under Merkel they were too centrist and lost far right to a degree that allowed a fascist party to the right to emerge and consolidate itself at about 20%

I see this more as the onset of a power struggle where CDU subliminally threatens SPD low key to use AfD votes to get things through and SPD showing him that they will break the whole thing if they overreach. Now everyone is busy reading them to act responsibly, but I think they do
comment in response to

Merz was very disrespectful towards SPD for stuff he is doing now and appointed a known racist as culture minister. Plus he appointed Spahn as Fraktionsvorsitzenden whose loyalty towards him was already questioned and who is open to collaborate with AfD (1/2)
comment in response to

No, we as a society don’t want AFD. CDU campaign was clear that there won’t be collaboration and that’s also why they were voted in. We had several attacks by
Migrants on the public pre vote and still 80% said no. So no, we 👏🏾 don’t 👏🏾 want 👏🏾 AfD

Imagine being a black American in 2025 hating on Booker for speaking up... Little hint, when your leaders do Nazi salutes and you are not white, straight, Christian and wealthy your life is in danger. You are not the first to think, they would never… and then get killed by a coward from next door

Interessant. Aber lässt sich das nicht alles auch mit höherer Effizienz (#deepseek) und mehr Konkurrenz (zum Teil kostenlos) erklären?

Next year there will be a lot more visible use-cases in the financial industry which at least in the EU appears to be on the fence (eg. Almost no open responsible AI positions despite eu ai act). When the benefits are realised I see the discussion turning to ethics re society & what may be automated
