Can I also put in an honorary mention for the free-rider problem? I know it’s usually associated with game theory and economics but I saw Ostrom listed here, and Governing the Commons is a great summary of real-world sociological solutions to the FRP.

Have it on the bookshelf right behind my head. KA also did an amazing stage version (and album) with the wonderful @mekons.bsky.social

This was pretty good for its time. Back in the early 80s we didn’t have a textbook at all, surviving on carbon copies. I was so grateful that this was available by the time I was teaching (at an FE College in MCR).

The two aren’t mutually contradictory. Russia is undoubtedly actively involved in destabilising the West but Putin doesn’t need to blackmail Trump, just support him. Trump’s backers are Silicon Valley libertarians intent on degrading the US nation state. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Putin is Trump’s role model not his puppetmaster. Trump plans to do to the US what the US did to the USSR: degrade and dismantle the infrastructure and bring about an oligarchy.

It’s definitely out there. I didn’t test positive until after a week of sickness. In bed for two days and a lingering frog in the throat four weeks later (the same as first time, tbh). Hope you get well soon. 🤞🤞🤞
