Citibank is the #2 funder of fossil fuels since the Paris Agreement and the #1 funder of fossil fuel expansion projects. www.ran.org/press-releas... WHY THE F*CK is Citibank in charge of $20B of federal funds for reducing fossil fuel pollution while they are actively working to expand it?

Where this gets interesting is when monied interests actually switch to supporting wind or solar with the intent of shaping it into something centralised, hoarded and thermal-generation-esque (in terms of dispatch). Eg: this Saudi Aramco project (marketed under their Masdar subsidiary)

“Despite global climate commitments, a small group of the world’s largest fossil fuel producers are significantly increasing production and emissions.” Saudi Aramco, Coal India, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, TotalEnergies and BP did not respond to requests for comment. … really? 😥😡

you are not "trump's lawyers," you aren't charged with protecting his leadership, and the job of media isn't to put "america first."

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

Dear OPM FOIA staff - Remember to preserve all of these email responses, as we will be submitting FOIA requests for this consolidated compilation of information on what the entire federal government did last week. Thx - FOIA community

There are many ways Trump could trigger a global collapse. Here’s how to survive if that happens. Monbiot offers us a wise and essential overview of what may lie ahead. Because there is little public understanding of how complex systems operate, collapse tends to take almost everyone by surprise.

Lowest global sea ice extent for the date. If it drops the same tomorrow it will be the lowest on record. 🧪 #GreenSky

Nothing to see here! Yes, Arctic sea ice is at an all time low for the date. And yes, it's on track for the lowest annual maximum ever, with about 4 weeks to go. But Arctic sea ice is in the Arctic. So who cares? Carry on. Love, Your friends at ExxonMobil & Chase Bank

Temperatures at north pole 20C above average and beyond ice melting point. When will Republicans care?

This level of accuracy confirms that climate change is the primary driver of polar bear decline, rather than other potential factors.

How does Koch industries get rid of its environmental liabilities for its oil wells? Have you heard of fraudulent conveyance? Once the economic value of the wells is gone they are spun off to smaller corporations. So, all the money from new wells goes to Koch Industries. Then they dump them.

Alaska to resume ‘barbaric’ shooting of bears and wolves from helicopters. The program would allow aerial hunters to kill 80% of wolves (until the population is reduced to 35), 80% of black bears (until the population is reduced to 700) and 60% brown bears (until the population is reduced to 375).

High fertiliser use halves numbers of pollinators, world’s longest study finds This study illustrates the problem farmers face: to get more flowering plant species and pollinators, the land needs to be less fertile, which reduces yields.

50% loss in GDP between 2070 and 2090 from climate shocks: climate risk assessments being used by financial institutions, politicians to assess the economic effects of global heating were wrong, ignoring the tipping points, sea temperature rises, migration and conflict as a result of global heating.

Climate crisis ‘wreaking havoc’ on Earth’s water cycle, report finds. On and on come the ever more dire reports and all the US Republicans want to do is drill for more oil?! Reality and politics drift ever further from one another to the detriment of all life on earth

‘Ironic’… Pam Pearson, the ICCI director, said: “It’s ironic these oil tanker ports are below 1 metre of sea level rise and need to have their eyes on these potentially higher rates of sea level rise, which themselves come from continued fossil fuel use.”

World endures 'decade of deadly heat' as 2024 caps hottest years on record…. And fossil fuel use continues to rise! Addiction to profit is going to kill us all

Snow days set to disappear across much of the US By the end of the century, most of the US outside the high mountains may never see deep snow cover the ground, with consequences for water storage www.newscientist.com/article/2461... docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Can we get 500 reposts on this? Please join me in signing the petition to urge President Biden to pardon our friend Reality Winner. If there is a way to hit the goal of 15,000 signatures it would be by way of Bluesky. Please consider signing and asking others to: reality-is.us/pardon-reali...

The canaries are all dead, the windows of opportunity are all welded shut, the frogs are fully cooked, the bananas are all gobsmacked, all the ships have sailed and the ticking time bombs have all detonated. At least we've lived in interesting times, right? A penny for your thoughts.

I was just on the Senate floor trying to pass my PRESS Act to protect journalists and their sources from spying and interference by the federal government. Tom Cotton blocked it.

Drylands now make up 40% of land. “Unlike droughts aridity represents a permanent, unrelenting transformation. The drier climates now affecting vast lands across the globe will not return to how they were, and this change is redefining life on Earth.”

‘Climate bomb’ warning over $200bn wave of new gas projects. the world’s LNG capacity was on track to grow by almost 50% by 2030, greater than the world’s forecast demand for gas in all three of the agency’s modelled scenarios. Is there really no one in banking capable of seeing where this leads?!

#INC5 “ #FossilFuel and other #petrochemical companies have used the false promise of #plastic #recycling to exponentially increase virgin plastic production over the last six decades,” the report explains, 1/
