Our team have been checking on the #kakapo on Pukahereka/Coal Island, in south-west Fiordland, New Zealand. This is the newest kākāpō island, established last year and currently containing 13 males. Here's Kenneth, by ranger Maddy Whittaker. #conservation #parrots #birds

I found this Common Script Lichen (Graphis scripta) growing on the north side of a Tulip-tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) last week. The script-like pattern of its fruiting bodies has given it another name - Secret Writing Lichen.

Sorry, update on this — my partner wins the thrift magic game today…he just looked up the snappy blazer he found (that looks like it was tailored for him) and the brand sells for $2200 new at Harry Rosen?!?! He got it (along w/two dress shirts, one of which is worth $280) for $14. WHAT???

My partner & I did a little vintage shopping/thrifting today & it was overall a blessed-by-the-thrift-gods day, but this was the highlight — a genuine Comme des Garçons tshirt that resells for like $200 online that was priced at $18, but they were having a sale so I got it for $7.50?!?!
