Today’s round treasures: 1. a chocolate pudding pie I made that turned out so yummy and 2. the blown glass ornaments my daughter and I made in a class! I love making things!

Still no electricity after Tuesday’s storm, BUT I’ve gotten so good at building fires in my fireplace now! And I charged up my laptop and sent out query number 19. AND I hear the sweet sound of chainsaws on my street telling me help has arrived! #silverlinings #amquerying #sothankful ❤️

Painting by candlelight thanks to the cyclone bomb. It’s…not really working. I need way more candles. 😆 Also, it’s already dark in the house at 4:35 pm. Argh! I was luckier than many, though. I’m so grateful we just lost our fence. Many neighbors fared much worse.

I lucked into a signed copy of Piano Wants to Play at Books of Wonder bookstore in NYC and gave it to me Mom, a piano teacher of forty years, for her birthday. She read it out loud and we both cried. Picture books are for everyone! ❤️ #kidlit

9/2 master study: The Wisdom of Trees by Lita Judge. Someone critiquing my nf pb manuscript suggested I study this book. I see why! I once heard Lita say she starts with format. That is evident here.
