We all lose. Even if we didn't have to do anything else to stop the tariffs, all the wasted energy for this nonsense is a loss. Not to mention the horrible truth that our closest ally is a clear and present danger to our sovereignty.

Can you please explain the sudden drop off around 15mya? I assume there was some glacial albedo positive feedback back loop but what kicked it off?

Because it's a societal problem in the same way homelessness and drug addiction are societal problems. Ignoring others suffering generally leads to larger problems.

That's because her approval comes from a seperate cohort outside the media. Once a politician reliably finds that, they tend to tell everyone else to f off

That 31% is the reason kids need to have the freedom to change their names without the school ratting them out
More people need to recognize that 7/10 supportive parents is great. But there are going to be kids who justifiably don't want their parents to know that at school they go by Jane not John

Some people are wrong *to you*. And when you use anger as an argument you usually give up trying to convince them and start committing atrocities.

Everyone always thinks their anger is righteous. Of course the reasons matter, because my reasons for being angry are just and good and their reasons are irrational and stupid.
This is why it's irrational to use anger. Arguments from emotion are countered with opposing arguments from emotion.

Sure, and the people screaming at a black girl trying to attend school were similarly driven by righteous anger.
Do you think it was the anger or the calm marches, the resolute civil disobedience, the finding common ground? Anger is a motivator, but if you let it drive it takes you to dark places

We can debate emotion/rationality polarity, but my opinion is still that reactionary anger (whether understandable or not) is counter productive to good governing decisions.

I don't see much rationality or reason in anger. Politics driven by emotional states, particularly anger, generally leads to worse outcomes. The best results have always come from more rational discussion from cooler heads. Maybe we should be encouraging more of that and less anger

Angry people aren't rational. Maybe we *shouldn't* be angry all the time.

The partisan divide on this is extreme. Why would a Conservative government take climate change seriously if their voters don't?
