Should the scenario Mick envisions actually take place, it would be the ultimate irony; Presidential helicopter crashes after encounter with US flag.

With everyone trying to figure out what comes next, I keep wondering what happens after Trump talks to his BFF at the Kremlin.

Which has nothing to do with your point about the relative insignificance of tariff collections. Just my way of defending government spending, I guess.

Unless my arithmetic is bad, that would be about $3 per person per hour ($1B/340 million US population).

Cost ($500 per soldier per day) seems low unless they are only fed MREs for a year and accommodated stacked in the basement of Federal buildings.

How can GOP explain that they are reducing the deficit when they have to raise the debt ceiling to accommodate it? I suppose they will blame the latter on Biden. Seems like a lot of dissonance potential…

People peacefully walking down the Pearl St Mall in Boulder, advocating for the safe return of the Israeli hostages are set on fire. What monster would do such a thing ? While I support the Palestinian people, NOT Hamas, this act of violence is monstrous & completely unacceptable.

Also, when corporations make more money, stock buybacks, corporate CEO pay, and dividends to shareholders increase. Maybe more merger/acquisition activity. Definitely not investment in plants or increases in worker pay, which are tied to labor market conditions and interest rates.
