Liberal, actually more liberal the older I get. Career in 3 acts: music teacher, project manager and teacher again. Baker of cakes.

We’ve been awake, just waiting for some direction from the Democrat leaders. Now that we realize there will be none, we have taken the resistance in our own hands, with encouragement from those members of Congress who are not afraid to speak out.

So terrible. All those dedicated public servants without jobs.

Terrific piece and right way to think of politicians. Thank you for posting.

Good. More public condemnation please. Keep the light shining on all the reprehensible things the administration is doing.

Thank you for this. I’ve limited my news consumption a lot but the bits about sticking to a routine and having a goal to look forward to (Chuckie Cheese prizes!) were things I hadn’t thought about. Forgot that’s how my family got through the pandemic but I’m going to renew those habits now.

Thanks. I knew there was a wrong way to say it but didn’t know what it was and didn’t have time to look it up. Appreciate the info. Now if I can just remember it next time…🙂

Thank you for this thoughtful analysis of how the Democrat party should confront Trump and his administration. Many people I have spoken to are expecting this kind of action from the Democrats and are worried and perplexed at their muted criticism and lack of push back for his cabinet choices.

75 at Tuba Christmas Omaha. My husband started it here in 1979 and conducted this year. His tuba teacher, at Indiana University, Harvey Phillips, started Tuba Christmas in New York in 1973. Here’s the Omaha event yesterday with part of the tuba ensemble.

Luckily I had something really enjoyable to distract me. My mom’s funeral and estate wrapping up tasks. (Just kidding of course.) You know things are bad when a funeral is better than the news.

My mom, who died 2 weeks ago, always asked me to call when I drove home from her assisted living place. Only 30 minutes but she wanted to know I was safe. 70 years old and I’m going to miss calling her. Turns out 98.5 yrs weren’t enough. Hope your memories of your mom will be a comfort to you. ❤️

One thing we’ve done right in Nebraska. Rare with the far right GOP in control of our state.
