One of the highlights was hearing feedback from the children. The one I loved most was one child when asked what they don’t like about foster care said “the candelabra in the dining room” - made me laugh 😆

All newly qualified social workers in Renfrewshire Council try to get to this event. It counts to your continuous learning for @SSSCnews purposes (remember to record your learning). Looking forward to the launch of the guide.

We need a coordinated approach to ensure the contribution of social work is recognised. If Scotland wants a socially just country then the Government needs to support the #SocialWork profession. Time for positive action from the Scottish Government in this area.

Correct but political choices made by minority of population due to low turn out in elections and referendum. Brexit is the one we never speak about - non binding so why did the political leaders run direct into a position which make lives worse for the population- who’s interests were they serving?

Social Work Scotland had our annual conference for independent review officers yesterday. @sharonmartin.bsky.social spoke about your books and work - so we had a prize draw for a copy of “Conversations that make a difference”. The winner was a colleague from Angus Council and she was delighted
